- dating sites are almost a sort of middle ground, allowing for consent in the selection of a marriage partner after a match is suggested to you. The choice is ultimately yours, but without the same optimistic bias of "in person" dating.
- self-selected marriages provide the obvious advantage of being something you have control over throughout the process, and that you don't need to "grow into" loving that person. Disadvantages:
-Forceful at times; creates pressure
-Genuine love often cannot be forced
-May be unhealthy if created under non-genuine grounds
-May work on a short term basis but not long term
-love is trial and error!
-Awkward!
-Creates conflict of interest(s) as far as happiness, partner as a provider of resources, true love, child bearing
