For example the cross hatching could be perceived as a more rough drawing when compared to the single line which appears more free moving and more delicate. This logo was derived from the notion of an owl being characterised as studious and sharp. Keeping the character simple and easily identifiable meant adding colour blocks with less detail. The sharp triangles behind hint to the notion of being sharp minded but also the habitat and trees owls live in. Using similar blue undertones in all colours allows it to be a cohesive piece.

Playing with different lighting gave vast different feels to each image. From collating multiple images everyday it is clear to see most of my inspiration comes from my natural surroundings. This includes the trees, land typography being on hikes and waterfalls, animals, sunsets, materiality and colour combinations. Font: The font used is clear and crisp to give that minimalistic and sophisticated feel to the logo.

Colours: A pastel mint green was the final choice derived from the colour palette of the word subtle. This gives a calm and inviting aspect to the logo and also nods to my other life values of sustainability and positivity.

Shape: The arch form was found through the modern arches on the moodboard and also inspiration from the photos a day. These made me think of the surrounding organic environment and reflecting on hikes up various mountains.

Icon: Using the illustration of me that was previously used in my mind map allowed me to make a personal connection to the brand which is important when having a client based job. This is especially important in interior design (my major) to allow the customers to connect with you to gain the best possible design outcomes. This style was used as it was found to be my preferred through the experiments and the use of black and white shades tied back into the minimalistic and modern approach.

Details: The tiny leafs on the left hand side tie it all together to create a cohesive piece and break up the harsh junction where the curve meets the base giving it a delicate side to the logo.

 By portraying myself in a simplistic and creative way it fits in with the style and theme of the portfolio. By creating a coloured version it brings character and a more defined identity. In using my skin and hair tones people can gain a sense of my cultural background along with vibrant pastel colours that gives a sense of my personality and style. 

The circles in the back hint to the idea of organic forms and bring interest and fun subtly to the icon. It also is derived from the self map of the colour blotches of the indigenous tribe around Queensland. These colours help balance out the illustration in a minimalistic way.
