Kriztian suffered the "initiation by fire" by jumping into mysterious and confounding process involved in getting permission from the school district so I could provide a free classroom program for a summer school class at Alhambra High. It was a month-long journey...and it didn't even involve the school board! Bravo!

I told Jung about our new classroom rearing jars on Monday morning. They were just a basic jar with larvae. Jung offered to make a funnel for them and asked for my timeline- I told her mid-October. Come Monday afternoon, she walks over with the funnel and funnel stand. SHE IS AMAZING! Our students will now get to see the entire mosquito life cycle from their classroom in this SGV-original rearing jar!

The next day he comes in with this plant tray FULL of Aedes eggs that we hatched out the next day 😲👏 Thank you! The day finally arrived! SGV Mosquito Match aka our SIT program, officially began and we are very excited to kick things off with the surveillance team! We've fielded media calls, organized a tour, and successfully released 30,000 mosquitoes in the first week.
