"Crowbar Thing" is a poem that was written and performed by Paul Flores in November 4, 2016. Paul wrote his poem to address problems of gentrification in San Francisco's Mission District. This poem was inspired by an incident in which three Mexican men were beat with a crowbar by the bar owner himself because they were hanging around his establishment. Paul's tone seemed crucial because his poem is about the injustice of gentrification. He speaks for those whom have had the misfortune of facing people with such ignited feelings of violence and racism.

Since gentrification is so widespread the only way to fight it is to make it known and united try to get rid of racism in a non violent way. For example poetry is a good way because you express yourself vocally not physically because not everything is violence. It also verbally shows the unjustice and inequality with different races.
