Assalamualaikum and hi to Dr.Wan and friends. In this week, I'm quiet busy doing preparation to test 1 and settle things one by one. During the lecture of microbiology, i'm doing my best to focus in class and adapt the environment in UPM besides the haze does not totally gone away. What I have learnt in class?? for this week, I have learnt about prokaryote. This is an interesting topic to be learn and know in detail about the structure of internal and external of the prokaryote. For the external structure, we done it by group work using a popplet mind map. The internal structure have be done individually and I choose popplet as a medium to do a mind map. I also like the way we discuss in class which we are drawing a big mind map at the white board. We are sharing all the information that we know to each other. This also will help all of us to remember and memories it very quickly. I'm enjoy the lesson for this week.

Assalamualaikum and hi to Dr. Wan and fellow friends. This is my first class of lecture in Microbiology. I feel very happy to attend this class due to your warm welcome and very enjoyable learning session. I love the way of Dr. Wan teach because she do not totally discuss about the syllabus but also share the thing that are out from class room. I like to hear about her sharing about the project of PHD student. This will give me more motivation to be hard work and curious to know everything about microbe. I also know that Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek is the father of microscopy. I feel that this is the best subject that i have choose.

Assalamualaikum.....hi Dr. Wan and classmate. This week was a tough week for me. This is because for this week there are tests and presentation. So as usual, life as student always busy and pack. For this week lesson, we still repeating the topic of prokaryote to strengthen our mind for preparation on test 1. I noticed that, for this topic I really need to memories the structure of prokaryote and its function. It is very important to learn because this is the basic of microbiology studies. There are several structure in internal structure which is plasma membrane, cytoplasm, nuclear area, ribosome and inclusion. External structure include glycocolyx, axial filament, fimbrie and pili, cell wall and flagella. I have done a mind map for this chapter and its help me a lot in memoris. Thats all for this week. :)

Assalamualaikum to Dr.Wan and friends. This week I felt really happy because got a leaved one day due to Maal Hijrah 1437. This time I felt relax and can cover all my uncomplete tasks. So, i really used the day to complete my task. For my microbiology lesson, this week I have learnt about Eukaryote. I found that this topic was interesting and become more happening when each group need to prepared a game for each subunits. I felt really enjoy while involved in the game besides can gain knowledge from my classmate. But in my opinion, i more prefer doing mind map. Maybe this is the way I learn and it must not be same to other friends. Because I found that we should do mind map first to understand about the topic then only we can proceed with the game. In second class, I have learnt about Fungi. So far its okay because we only learnt half of it. So I hope that Fungi will be nice to me...hehe...meant that I can easily learnt and understand it well. I have done the mind map for all topic that I have learnt as my revision and I will keep doing this. That all for this week and thank you for reading my e-portfolio :)

Assalamualaikum to Dr.Wan and fellow friends. This week all UPM students get 1 day off due to heavy haze that occur in our country. This problem really make me scared because it might affect to our health. The new disease that have been discovered during haze was the "demam kepialu" that mostly occur in area of Kuala Lumpur. So, we should avoid from eating food at stall in Kuala Lumpur. For my microbe class, this week i have learnt about Fungi. This is an interesting topic that i have learnt which are more about fungus ; chytrid, zygomycota, ascomycota, basidiomycota, lichen and mycorrhizae. I love to do the task that was in putrablast which is crossword. It make me more understand by answering the question. Farhana also had discuss with me and we were helping each other. I hope that Dr.Wan can do this activity again for the next class. I feel release :)

Assalamualaikum to Dr.Wan and my dear friends. This week I was working with my group members for our carnival that will be held on 18-20 November 2015. We are assign to work out on topic fungi which is Aspergillus flavus. So, we do it together in preparing of poster, video and 3D model. We are trying to finish up this project as soon as possibe. Hopefully Dr.Wan will be safely arrived to Malaysia after the conference at Barcelona. We miss you and your lecture.

Assalamualaikum to Dr . Wan and fellow friends. This week the lecture class like usual. I have learnt about protist which have divided into two which is protozoa and algae. The learning in class was based on the creativity to create a short notes. My group was discuss and agree to create a minizine which can be done using an A4 paper. It is a small and portable to bring anywhere and anytime besides it have too many point that have been compact inside it. Thats all for the week. Thank you for reading my e-portfolio.

Assalamualaikum to Dr. Wan. This week I will share with you about our microbes carnival that were held on 19 to 20 November 2015. I feel so satisfied with my group work poster which on Aspergillus flavus. We have work hard to create the simplest and easy to understand when read the poster based on fungus and finally alhamdulillah that we manage to have a 3D model which look like water sprinkle in green color. On the first day of the carnival, I feel a little bit relax because there were not really a crowded people. I and my group members also take turn to explain the poster and 3D model to the guest. Besides that, I also have visited the other groups and get their explaination on their poster such as rabbies, e bola and Staphylococcus aurious. Besides explaining to others I also have gained a lot of information from my classmate. I also have visited to the seniors stall which sold a lot of food and beverages based on the microbes. For the second day of the carnival, this is the really the time that me and my group fully prepared to be judge by lecture. Alhamdulillah during the judgement time we easily can present it. I also have entertain many guest to our booth and told them about the fungus. I also take the opportunity to play dat. The karhood activity really make the carnival happening. I and Ayu also help the seniors to handle the registration counter during their judgement. I also learnt so many thing the do's and dont during the process of registration. I also make friends with seniors and have a fun time with them. Besides I also have meet with the UITM's students and the master student of UITM. This is really a great experience during my first year as a microbiology student. I felt released, happy and enjoyed during the carnival eventhough feel tired. Thats all. Thanks Dr. Wan for make this carnival for us.

I found that the prion are really make me challenging to learn as it difficult for me to remember and there are too many groups in family of protists that make me sometimes quite confused. Assalamualaikum to Dr. Wan and friends. This week was a quite tough week for me because on the tuesday lecture I need to list down all terms from microbial metabolism in the quizlet. I admit that I felt really hard to memorized those term because I never been exposed with that terms during my diploma. That topic really new for me. So I must work harder to momorized all the terms. Besides that, I also do not perform well during the online quiz. I felt a little bit down. But on the friday lecture, I felt released because the topic were easier for me to understand and memorized. The quiz also was a simple one. I will try my best to study smart and grab all those thing that are gone during the quiz. I just need a time to slowly memorized all the terms. He have a different teaching method which he will repeating the learning outcome before entering the new subtopic. Assalamualaikum to Dr. Wan and my classmate. Finally, this week was a final week of lecture for all of us. I can felt that it was really short and time is moving to fast. I still felt like i'm a new student here. I'm happy to be a microbiologist student and i have done my 3MT on last friday. Be honest that, i felt so nervous when standing on the stage. A mix of feeling was on my mind. I have do my best during the 3MT. I felt satisfied and I have give all about the pros and cons about my adopted microbe. I also so impress about my talented friends who have done their 3MT very well. Good job. Assalamualaikum to Dr. Wan and my classmate. Its been a long time i did not wrote on this e-portfolio and here this is my first week on my second semester. Alhamdulillah everything is well regarding my results on final exams. I feel more confidence in my second sem. I also keep working hard to achieve an excellent results. For this sem, i really love in learning of microbe in class and lab. Now i will share with you about my holiday sem break and my assigment during the sem break. During the holiday, i spent my time with working part time as a cinema crew. I meet many new friends there and they were so nice. I decided to work because i cant stay at home without doing nothing and that makes me feel boring and i will only eat, watch tv and sleep. So by working i can gain many experiences with the environment and people. I have thinking so many topic to do in my assigment and my friend give some idea such as about nail fungus, why our toe smelly when wearing socks, why our mouth smelly and many more. I have do some research on the topics and i found that its hard to understand. While reading in the internet, i found that the topic about dandruff and i am interested on it. So i decided to do that topic. I also have learn how to use thinglink as it was my first time experience using the apps. I have done all the requirement and i record the video at last. I ask my friend at the cinema to help me in the video record. At first, she was shy to do that but i have explained to her that i will explain about my assigment to her. Thats all. So after so many times i asking about the video, she agreed to do it. We have recorded about 3 times but i do not satisfied with the video due to the loud sound that disturbing us and we are not well prepared. The last video that i was recorded was the perfect one. So i would like to thanks to them for helping me in my assigment. I also wound like to thanks to you Dr. Wan for giving the assigment that can gain my knowledge more about microbes. Assalamualaikum to Dr. Wan and friends. For my second week in this semester was really a hectic week. Every night i'm joining the activity at hostel. So, i'm a bit messy and keep running to focussing on my studies. Its not an easy to have a balance in academic and co-curricular activity. I hope that during my third week i will have a time to focussing on my studies. Thats about my activity at hostel. For the microbe class, i'm like usual and enjoying learning. I don't want to take too serious and end up I will stress. I love to study in a relax style. I also feel more interested learning of microbe on how to identify and classify them. Then, i would like to thanks to you because have teach us how to read the journal in a correct way. Now, i understand better when reading a journal even sometimes it a bit longer and full of information. For me, there are a lot of biochemical tests and method that need to be remember. I will do it slowly and keep focus. That all from me. Thank you.

This week I have learnt again about how to analyse the journal and the new topic that are very interesting which is about monera (algae and bacteria). I already read the notes that you have given and i found that the notes are easy to digest. I hope that I can apply the knowledge about microbe 1 in my microbe 2. I also feel excited about our pecha kucha which will be start after midsem break. I have got the topic about environment and I still thinking for the best choice. Assalamualaikum and hi Dr. Wan. This week i have learnt about fungi which i found that it not same as last sem lecture. We have go through for the fungi imperfecti and fungus like. I think maybe this topic are more deep about fungi compare to the true fungi that we already learnt last sem. I enjoying learning fungi and i found that the fill in the blank notes also helpful for me to remember more but it would take sometimes to fill it completely. I realize that before going to lecture class, i need to study first and prepare myself and it really helpful. Asaalamualaikum to Dr. Wan. This week i have learnt about algae and protozoa. My preparation before the class were read the notes and did a mind map. I like the game that we have done but its really need a fast thinking and i sometimes cannot catch up the answer for the question. Overall its really helpful to us. I found that every group have a different question and its was good. Besides, we were helping each other during the games. Next, for the protozoa lecture i did not really prepared and the game that you have done really help all of us. I found that my group received more information as we were the last group. Assalamualaikum to Dr. Wan. This week we were learning with Dr. Irwan. As for your information we dont have a lecture on tuesday because we need to attend the talk of CEO @ faculty which the guest is Tan Sri Tony Fernandes. I learnt many things from his experiences and agreed that every success must have a failure first. I also like the way he gave the speech and found that he was a very humble and nice person. So, we make the class on wednesday and friday. This week, Dr. Irwan have teach us about the introduction to the immunology. We learnt the theory on wednesday and do the mind map in goconqr on friday. I found that the topic was interesting and need several understading in the process. During the lecture the main point is the component, cell, first line immune system and second line immune system. For the time being, i found that most of my classmate done well in their presentation. I love the presentation by Fizah Hamdan because I love her style. Assalamualaikum to Dr Wan. My comment for this week pecha kucha was good and interesting. This is the best way for us to learnt and practice to make a presentation to public. I saw most of us cannot avoid the felling of nervous. Everyone got the nervous but its depend on how the person try to be calm. Besides, the topic that they are present really interesting and too informative for me. As for my theory, i have learnt ecology for this week. So far, its okay and i will struggle for my second test and keep on focusing. Dr. Irwan also a good lecturer as he will explain everything in detail and always give an example for our better understanding and i think he was very cool during the lecture. Assalamualaikum to Dr Wan. First of all i want to share about my second test. I found it was okay but the question was sometimes confusing even we can have a note with us. About the essay question, i not sure what to write for adaptive immnunity and i only wrote a few point. Now when i thinking about that, i felt worried. I dont want to loose mark but i have try my best. Pecha kucha for this week was seem enjoyable and better. More improvement. Farhana give the talks was so fluent and very fast. She able to remember the 20 types of microbes in 20 slides presentation. I am so impress with her. Thats all for me. Thank you :)

Assalamualaikum and hello to Dr wan. Alhamdulillah this semester I meet you again to learn Microbial Ecology. I know that this subject was very important for us to learnt besides it can helps us during our final year project. During the first week I have learnt about the basic principle of microbial ecology. After having about one month holiday, I admit that certain knowledge have been forgotten. So, I need a certain time to refresh my mind and get the mood of focusing in studies. I want to thankful for you because during our first lecture you are asking too many question. Thus, it helps me to think critically. We also have discuss about the VM in the class. I admit that this time our VM involve more than 10 people. So, the work progress should be divided equally among us. The VM will start at week 4 because we are waiting the student from UITM to join.

Until this moment, I can't really love to read journal because its sometimes hard to be understand. Besides that, I can easily get sleepy when see to many words on that paper. So, I am trying to work harder to understand the journal. Its only about energy source, carbon source and electron source. This topic also have some similarity when I studying bacteriology. Its also involve the nutrition. The metabolism involve the reaction such as anabolism and catabolism. I am very interest to these topic and can be focus more.

Assalamualikum and hello to Dr. Wan. This week, on 15th march we have a short trip to INTI college for the talk title 'Antibiotic Resistant'. The talk was very informative and helps us to understand why the antibiotic was very important to finish it. The talk also mention that when we actually needs the antibiotic. The doctor that conducted the talk was very experience and have too many situation that he have share with us. The most interesting about the booth is that the students sell the petri dish agar which looks very similar to blood agar media. Besides that they also provide some games which involve microbes. So, as microbiologist, I think that we need to know details about the antibiotic as we also will work on it in future.

Assalamualaikum and hello to Dr. Wan. This week the class was take over by Dr. Amalia. We learnt about soil. Dr, Amalia was a very nice person and she deliver the lecture clearly. I can understand what she tried to explain but I think that the soil topic was very dried and need to remember too many things. Luckily we have an activity before end the class. This time Qish's group was conduct an MCQ quiz which is very interesting. So, from that I can slowly recall the topic. This is a very good activity because it also can test our IQ so that how many percent that we can absorb during the class.

Assalamualaikum and hello to Dr. Wan. The semester break was over, so let me discuss about the classes that running throughout the week. Basically on monday lecture, we are discussing about the journal 'Plant Microbiome'. My group member and I were working together to extract out the information in the journal. I found that the journal was very interesting as it also simple to understand. The journal basically about the microbial community in the plant including rhizosphere, phylosphere and endosphere. The interesting thing that happen was that the journal involve in our online quiz. Oh my god, by hook or crook we needs to really understand the content of the journal. On the thursday, we started to learnt about the aquatic environment. We manage to finish the whole chapter. I found that the aquatic environment was a bit hard because need to memorize many thing. This same goes to soil chapter.

Asaamualikum and hello to Dr. Wan. This week we continued the presentation on human microbiome. I found that there were too many microbe that can be found on us. It is important for us to know the knowledge so that we can managed our hygience properly to avoid bad infection. Based on the presentation, I am very interested about the scalp microbiome. This is because I found that we need to know in details especially for women due to most of us are wearing scaft. Usually our scalp will be inhabit by fungi which cause oily. This can be treated by using antifungal agent.

Assalamualaikum and hello to Dr. Wan. This week Dr. Amalia taught us about food microbe. I found that this is a very interesting topic. Mostly our food maybe contaminated by Salmonella in fresh meat. This Salmonella have a bad effect on human such as diarrhia. Thus, we need to take the precaution and make sure our food that we are consuming are safe and clean. This week my group did the quiz on kahoot. On Wednesday we have Test 2.

This is my review about the comic that me and my team have done. First of all, I want to apologized for the late post of the review.
In my opinion, these activity really helps me to be a creative student. This is because I needed to think critically before producing a nice and simple comic. I also managed to find a good apps and easy to organized the chapter. Besides that, I and my team mates worked together and exchanged idea so that the comic was suitable for everyone to read. We finally choose Pseudomonas syringae as the major actor for the comic as these microbe can save the world from becoming the desert. Its a new semester for my 3rd year session. As usual, I will share what I have learnt in this platform. But this time, I will wrote about my Virology class. This time I need to work more harder as my senior said that the Virology course was not easy to be handle.

During my first week, I have learnt about the history of Virology with Prof Tan. This week I have learnt about chemical composition in virus which consist of protein, nucleic acid, lipid and carbohydrate. Then, the step in infection which include absorp, entry, expose nucleic acid, viral gene express, virion component produce and assemble. Next, I have learnt about replication cycle which have 3 phase. Firstly involving early phase which is attachment and entry. Thats all for this week.

This week I have learnt about the second phase of replication which is biosynthetic phase. At this stage, virus needs several strategies to multiply themselves and they needs to face the constrain that might occur. The third phase involved the assembly, maturation and release. Virus assemble isocahedral or helix structure before been release outside the host. each virus have different mechanism in replication process. Thats all from me.

Welcome back to student reality after 1 week semester break. During Dr. Eddy class we have been refresh our memory with the CENTRAL DOGMA. As in this chapter, the knowledge about transcription, translation and replication was very important.
We also studying the first virus life cycle which from family Picornaviridae. We have choose the POLIOVIRUS. Poliovirus is the + strand RNA with do not consist envelope. Poliovirus causes poliomyelitis (dealth of motor neuron in spinal cord). We learnt in details about the replication, translation, transcription and how its assemble and release into the host.
In addition, we have watch the video and do the online quiz for better understanding. Besides that, we also read the jurnal paper that related to the Poliovirus

This week, we study on the - strand RNA virus with envelope. It is non segmented and come from family Paramyxoviridae. The virus involve is New Castle Disease Virus. This virus infects avian/bird. The speciality of this virus is consisting its own enzyme.
Jurnal paper have been provided for better understanding.

We also learnt about the segmented - strand RNA virus from family Orthomyxoviridae. The example of virus is Influenza A. Basically this virus causes the flu in human. As usual, we learnt about the structure, replication, transcription and translation process that occur. Then the virus assemble and been release to infect other cell.

Assalamualaikum and hello.

This week Dr Eddy continue taught us about Influenza A. Now I already realize that the mechanism was too much. I'm start to mix everything and felt scared. The mechanism was very complicated and I felt it hard.
In addition, we also learnt about Hepatitis B virus which infect the liver cell. I need some time to figure out these thing. Luckily, test 2 only involve 4 type of virus only. So I need to focus these 4 first in order to achieve a good result.
As usual, Dr Eddy always provide us with the journal and video. Thats very helpful for us. Thanks Dr Eddy

This week I have learnt something new in virus. The virus use reverse transcriptase in its mechanism. The virus is Retrovirus which is the HIV. The life cycle is the most complicated as compared to other. In addition, I also learnt the Hepatitis B virus.
This week, I also facusing on my second test. So I do my revision and build a table for comparison between all the viruses.

This week I learnt with Dr Saila about the cell transformation and tumourigenesis.
Based on the notes, the topic was quite simple. I hope that its also will be easy for me to answer my final paper.
On the previous class, we play Kahoot. The question is based on the topic as well as the jurnal paper provided for better understanding. Luckily my team which is ayu, farah and me managed to get the 3rd place.
