This is an oil on canvas painting and measuring 207.6cm x 308cm. Now it is located in the Art Institute of Chicago. Is one of pointillist technique executed in a large canvas.
The style of the painting is realistic, represent a normal situation. The artist has used cheerful colours. In the background the colours are light and bright. There is a lake with some boats in it and, on the right corner, there are a lot of trees. That is a very sunny day because a lot of people are using umbrellas to shelter from the sun. Also, in the foreground there is a very marked shadow. The people are sitting on the grass, or are walking and talking to the person next to them. In the foreground there are also some dogs that are playing.
