The state of New Jersey against Tracy Lois Odem<br>2.Two girls were caught smoking in the New Jersey High School bathroom, one denied doing it and when her backpack was searched they found marijuana, they also found out she sold it too.<br>3.T.L.O. argued that her fourth amendment rights had been broken from this unreasonable search and seizure. They wanted the court to decide if it was an unreasonable search.<br>4. That the school had probable cause to search her and her backpack.<br>5.They found her smoking with someone else and she denied smoking, so they had probable cause to search her.<br>6. Because the action that was taken by police violated weeks 4th amendment so the actions were illegal <br>6.
