Biological → Some people are more likely to have an anxiety disorder due to their genetics. Several studies have shown that brain chemistry imbalances have been known to cause anxiety. These chemical imbalances are caused by issues including serotonin, norepinephrine, and gamma-aminobutyric acid which are all linked to how you feel and what your mood is. Anxiety disorders are passed down from parents directly to their children usually.

Environmental → Some people who have anxiety disorders have it caused by their experiences in life, every place they've been, and everything that has been taught to them; these are the environmental factors. It's also often accepted that people can develop anxiety disorders just as a result of their surroundings. This is confirmed by the fact that anxiety can be addressed without the need of medication or surgery, implying that life experiences shape a great deal of mental health. Some of these environmental effects are stress, one's upbringing, and trauma.
