At the start of the semester, I set a goal to become more confident and organized in my writing. I believe I’ve made good progress toward this, especially in how I plan and revise my work. One of the biggest areas where I improved was writing clearer thesis statements and supporting them with stronger evidence. In my research paper about neuroscience, I was able to use credible sources and organize my points in a logical way, which was something I struggled with before. The most difficult challenge I faced was staying focused on the main idea throughout a longer paper. I used to get off track or add too many extra details. With the help of feedback from my teacher and classmates, I learned to outline my ideas more carefully before I started writing.

One assignment that showed a big change was my Research proposal. My first draft was unorganized, but after revising it multiple times, I created a much stronger final version that had a clearer structure and message.I also learned a lot about writing for different audiences and purposes. Knowing whether I was writing to inform, persuade, or reflect helped me choose the right tone and style. My research skills improved as well. I used online databases and citation tools to make sure my sources were accurate and properly credited. Overall, I feel like my writing voice has become more confident and mature, and I am proud of how my work has improved.

For this outcome, I chose my Research Proposal because it shows my ability to create a thoughtful and well-developed line of inquiry. I started with a personal interest in how mindset affects well-being and turned it into a research question about the neuroscience behind a positive mindset. I explored many sources, including Psychology Today and Medical News Today, and outlined a plan to interview people and gather survey data. I also created a detailed timeline to guide my research process. By combining personal interest with scientific investigation, I showed strong critical thinking and used research methods to explore my topic from multiple angles. This project demonstrates how I can take a complex idea and break it down into clear research steps.

I selected my Literature Review because it shows my ability to choose reliable and relevant sources to support my research. I used scholarly articles, books, and peer-reviewed journals like World Happiness Report 2015 and Brain Sciences to ensure credibility. I carefully analyzed each source for accuracy and bias and compared ideas across studies. I also ethically cited all sources to give proper credit to the authors. This process helped me improve my research skills and taught me to focus only on high-quality information. My final review combined these sources to present a well-supported overview of how neuroscience influences mindset and well-being.

I chose The Mysterious Package screenplay to show how I adapted my writing to fit a creative research genre. Writing a screenplay required me to understand and follow the format and structure specific to film scripts. I had to limit my word choice and focus on visuals, dialogue, and scene directions to move the story forward. I also had to carefully balance suspense and pacing while staying within the genre’s constraints. This assignment helped me learn how different genres have unique expectations. It allowed me to explore creativity while still following a set of formal writing rules and conventions.

I selected my Discussion and Conclusion section because it shows how I used analysis and interpretation to contribute new ideas.
