  • Salmon have a lateral line which helps them see what fish are around them and water currents. This is very important because it needs to know what is upstream and downstream so it knows where to migrate. The salmon’s gills allows it to switch between freshwater and saltwater.

  • Coniferous trees they have needles instead of leaves that get by on less sunlight than trees. They grow towards the light due to phototropism and these trees have acid metabolism which is a form of photosynthesis, in this version of photosynthesis, less water is loss.

  • Kelp has a very strong root system, which helps it grow at a high rate of speed. Both sides of the blade can perform photosynthesis as they twist in water currents.   • It has a waxy layer on the leaves which makes it able to conserve water and they are able to grow in drier soils than normal. The trunk’s color is grey when exposed to the sun however it turns brown when in shade.
