Linguistic knowledge is one of the fundamental components of the ability to use the language, the ultimate goal of an L2 teaching program. Research on second language acquisition studies what this knowledge consists of and describes the different forms they take, and linguistic perfomance is the ability to produce and understand sentences in a language </title>

<title>8. In what way is teaching grammar similar to prescriptive grammar? Grammar is the study of the rules and principles that govern the use of languages and the organization of words within sentences and other types of syntactic constituents. Traditional grammar is typically prescriptive. This type of grammar is usually based on the prestigious dialect of a speaking community, and it often discourages especially certain constructions that are common among lower socioeconomic groups, and that may or may not be used also in higher social groups. </title>

<title>9.Why is “American Sign Language” considered a language? In the United States, as in most of the world, hearing families with deaf children usually use household gestures or familiar signs for simple communication. However today, American Sign Language classes are offered in many secondary schools and in higher education. ASL is a language other than spoken English, it has its own syntax and grammar, and it has its own culture. The origin of modern ASL is tied to the confluence of various events and circumstances, including historical attempts at deaf education, the unique current situation on a small island in Massachusetts, attempts by a parent to get the local ministry to help educate to his deaf daughter, and not least the ingenuity and genius of people (in this case deaf) for the language itself. </title>

<title>10.Why do people say that animals possess a language? Because they do communicate with each other through sounds and gestures. Animals have a number of in-born qualities they use to signal their feelings, but these are not like the formed words we see in the human language</title>
