how is art club?

i love art club the people there are amazing !! my batchies are all super nice and welcoming and friendly and i've made so many friends there :") and the work we do is generally quite enjoyable also because i love art and Graphic Design Is My Passion TM ;)

why did you choose that vision for rgs? also, good luck campaigning hehe <3

personally, i feel kind of disconnected from everyone and everything else, because there have been so many changes in the recent years (eg moving to braddell, covid etc) and i think this really affected the way people remember rgs and their rgs experience. but i dont want to let covid ruin our experience here, and i also hope that we can all grow to love our current campus! so i really think that unity as a school is something we need to liven up our spirits and to support each other in trying times <3

i have also observed a general gap between the lead boards and the students, and i hope to work on this. pb exists to serve the school, not our own agenda. i hope to be the voice of the students and help you communicate with the school as well! this can help to enact change in rgs as well as improve everyone's rgs experiences :D

hm i really don't know... something related to mental health (eg psychiatry??) wld be vv cool! or like medicine ?? idk yet HAHA still have time to think :") and i hope to be able to volunteer also :D

who is a leader that inspires you?

hm this is a tough one! i think michelle obama is super inspiring because she really advocates for gender equality and awareness of poverty, and also takes steps to address these issues which is super cool :O she's someone who's really upfront and bold about what she supports which i really admire! she's really people-centred in her service as the first lady and i'm very inspired by how she always puts the people first :)
emma watson and malala yousafzai aren't really conventional "leaders" but i think what they stand for (gender equality yay) is really cool and they're both very vocal in their advocacy, and take steps towards achieving gender equality! the way they can reach out to so many people to support the same cause as them really inspires me too :D

i was from paya lebar methodist girls' school (plmgs) from p1 to p3, and rosyth school from p4 to p6! to be very honest i don't remember much about plmgs because it's from so long ago.. (OOPS) i just remember they had a very cool track and indoor sports hall HAHA and i love rosyth i made so many amazing friends there :")

hm i'm sure we'd all love more recess HAHA but that would also mean we're dismissed later... in my opinion the current recess time is suitable! but if you have any concerns feel free to tell me :O

Hello! What sets you apart from other candidates? // What is a trait that distinguishes you from the rest

i think one thing which really sets me apart is my nurturing nature! i'm a member of PB HR SLT OT, where we are in charge of training the SLTs! i was also an SLT IC for the cycle 2 batch project, and worked with them very closely in their project, by providing them assistance whenever necessary! i really enjoyed this aspect of growing alongside them and being a part of their leadership journey :)
i am also a servant leader! to me people-centredness is super important because i hope to be someone who really listens to and serves the people. i also want to be someone you know you can depend on to listen to you and to act on your needs and ideas!

have you thought of any initiatives that can help you in achieving your vision of reigniting school spirit unifying rgs? // do you have any plans on how to reach your goals? thanks for answering!

hm i don't want to promise anything, especially since the covid-19 situations means lots of restrictions and a very uncertain future. but i hope that we don't let covid restrict us! for example, we still had spirit ignition sessions during y1o, in smaller groups in the classrooms rather than as a batch in the hall. by working with the restrictions and possibly downscaling previous initiatives we had, we could have more sessions similar to that of the spirit ignition sessions in y1o! i think there are endless possibilities, but of course these are just ideas, and we'll have to see how the covid situation changes before we can work out anything concrete :")

how would you react if you are not the head prefect?

although i would be slightly disappointed at first, i would still do my very best regardless of my role in exco to serve you! and i would definitely congratulate whoever is the head prefect because i think the 6 of us worked really hard on our campaigns and they really deserve it :") i will also continue to work together with the rest of pb exco to serve your needs and make rgs a place you feel a sense of belonging to!

You said your leadership style was being a servant-leader, do you think this might deter you from making choices that are based on your own discretion? Like you may be swayed by the school population?

i think that what the school thinks and wants is very important! and ultimately pb exists to serve the school, so we definitely hope to take everything into consideration. that being said, there will be circumstances when what the students want cannot necessarily be achieved because of other restrictions. so i'll try my best to strike a balance between what the students want and what we can achieve, by compromising! and the rest of the exco will be there to check each other to ensure we're making sound decisions too :)

Considering the candidates this year have similar themes, what makes you stand out from the rest?

i think something i really hope to work on would be collaboration and transparency between pb and the rest of the school! so that means working closer with you and listening to you more, rather than doing what we think you would want. collaboration is really important in making rgs truly ours <3

how would you serve the school in the covid-19 pandemic?

hm i'll be there to provide moral support to anyone who needs it! and i'll do my best to help everyone adapt to the new situation and try to keep school spirit up despite covid :)

What limitations could there be that may limit you from achieving your goals, and how will you overcome them? // what is one weakness you have?

sometimes i feel like i'm not very confident in myself. but i've been trying to work on this by looking at the bright side and staying optimistic! my friends also help me a lot in this area because they really provide me with a lot of support whenever i need it :") one example would be this hp campaign, where my campaign team really helped me a lot with the campaign, and my mentors also gave me lots of feedback and support!!

has leading rgs as the head prefect been one of your dreams for a long time?

no actually! i went into the internal pb exco elections with zero hopes HAHA i really just wanted to try it out and stretch myself as a leader, so the outcome was very surprising to me :") only after i started the internal exco election process did i really think about potentially becoming head prefect. although being head prefect hasn't really been a dream i've had for a long time, something i've definitely wanted to work on would be improving myself as a leader, so running for head prefect was the perfect opportunity for me :)

what are your thoughts on the rationale behind the prefects in rgs being the only lb having different uniforms compared to everyone else?
