Wants to marry Hermia and goes against her fathers wishes when they plan to run away together. While he is going through with his plans to run away with Hermia, Puck mistakes him for Demetrius and puts the love spell on him. Then in attempt to fix this he makes both Lysander and Demetrius fall in love with Helena. Puck then proceeds to lure Lysander into a forest pretending to be Demetrius and put the antedote on him so he can go back to loving Hermia.

Demetrius is in love with Hermia yet that love is unrequited because Hermia is in love with Lysander. Puck, while trying to fix his mistakes, put the love spell on Demetrius in order for him to be in love with Helena. Once he and Lysander are in love with Helena they both declare to fight one another to win her love.

After Puck mistakenly puts the love potion on Lysander and then tries to fix his mistake by putting it on Demetrius he makes both men fall in love with Helena and no one in love with Hermia. After Helena sees this instead of being happy that her love is finally reciprocated she believes that they are all playing some kind of sick prank on her to mock her.

Oberon is having relationship issues with Titania because she refuses to hand over the Indian boy to him.

During their relationship Oberon decides to get his servant Puck to put lysander under a spell. He also decides to put Titania under a spell after their argument about the Indian boy.

Also seeing the relationship troubles Hermia, and all of them he is driven to have Demetrius put under a spell so someone is in love with Helena. This all backfires when Puck puts both of them under the spell resulting in everyone loving Helena and no one to love Hermia.

Oberon and Titania make up after he puts the antedote on her and they live happily ever after while she believes her falling in love with a donkey was a dream.

Titania

Titania is having problems with her relationship to Oberon. Their problems are because of Titania refusing to give up her Indian foster child up to Oberon and Oberon grows angry and jealous. Oberon decides to put her under a love spell that would make her fall in love with anything even an animal. Titania falls in love with Bottom after being put under a spell by Oberon. Bottom is a donkey when she falls in love with him.

Puck (Robin Goodfellow)

Trouble maker and Oberons right hand man. Always meddling in something for no reason. He puts the love spell on Lysander mistaking him for Demetrius messing everything up. Oberon then figures out how bad he messed up. Meddling into something else he turns longbottom into an ass, and has titania fall in love with him. He then following Oberons orders puts the antedote on Lysander leaving Demetrius in love with Helena.

Pucks final lines are an apology to the audience telling them if they thought the play sucked, they should pretend it was all a dream.

Nick Bottom

Nick Bottom is a part of the play as well as Peter Quince. While he is practicing Puck decides for him to be the subject of his trouble making and actually turns his head into the head of an ass. Unknowing that he actually has the head of an ass Bottom thinks everyone ran away as a prank. Titania, being put under the love spell by Oberon, sees Bottom as an ass the second she wakes, causing her to fall in love with him. Confused, of as to why a women of her status and as beautiful as herself is in love with him he reluctantly abides and decides to take the opportunity to get with Titania.

Peter Quince

Peter Quince is the director of the play from the Rude Mechanicals

he has to deal with the idiocracy of those in the play and has to witness all of it unravel in act 5 when they put on the worst play ever.
