My reasoning for taking this class

My reason for taking this class isn’t just to earn credit, but because of my personal experiences with Black culture and my goals in life. As a kid, I didn’t recognize the problems in our society—I thought everything was fine. But as I got older and witnessed certain events unfold, I was shocked by the reality. I believe one of the best ways to prevent those heartbreaking and frightening events from happening again is through education. So many arguments and conflicts begin because people on both sides don’t truly understand the issues; they’re often more focused on being right than being informed. So my goal is to educate myself as much as possible so I can help spread the culture the right way.

In one of the recent course materials, I talked about Black Panther and the impact it had on people around the world. First of all, Black Panther is an amazing movie—Michael B. Jordan and Chadwick Boseman both delivered powerful performances. Beyond being entertaining, the film helped shine a spotlight on Black culture. It addressed deep and important topics such as the African diaspora, colonialism, identity, and Black liberation. The conflict between T’Challa and Killmonger wasn’t just a simple good vs. evil story—it represented two different perspectives on how to respond to centuries of oppression. Black Panther became a symbol of hope, especially for younger generations, by showing them that their stories matter and that heroes can look like them. The symbol "WAKANDA FOREVER " was such a big thing I remember seeing so many kids doing it. It was truly amazing thing what Black Panther did. Also Rest In Peace Chadwick Boseman.

After I'm all done and graduated, I hope to educate not just for my job as a physical therapist. But educated in our society, so I can communicate with my coworkers and my clients.

The culture affect Tyler Perry has had

Tyler Perry has done more than just make people laugh—he’s created space for Black voices, become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, supported the civil rights movement, donated to charity, and helped the homeless. And on top of all that, he plays one hilarious character: Madea. I remember watching Madea movies growing up and not even realizing it was him under all that makeup! When my mom finally told me, I was shocked—but now I can’t watch a Madea movie without cracking up. As funny as those movies are, they also teach important lessons, and that’s what Tyler Perry is all about. His films are entertaining, but they also share wisdom and reflect aspects of Black culture and family life. I think my favorite Madea movie is Boo! A Madea Halloween—it had me laughing the whole time.
