• Mr Hadley comes home, talks to Mrs Hadley, finds out she wasn't where she was supposed to be and slaps Mrs Hadley

• Meggie recieves a call and finds out she has gotten fired.

• They kiss, even if Sephy finds it gross

• Callum and Sephy talk about running away together and about Callums first day at a cross school

• His mom interrogates him about where he's been and calls Sephy a "Dagger"

• His mom is quite anxious about him going to the cross school while his dad is proud of his son for passing the entrance exam.

• She sees her dad talking to a nought about the Liberation Militia

• He is also complaining about how noughts were never supposed to pass the entrance exam to get into the school

• Mr Hadley sees that Sephy was listening into the conversation so he grabs her arm and scolds her

• Callum and his mum go down to watch television and Lynette goes down

• This is where the reader starts to notice that there is a problem with Lynette after "The incident' and she starts saying how she is a cross with dark, rich skin

• She asks her driver to drop her off before she gets to school because the students tease her about being wealthy

• On her way to school she starts to hear, " NO BLANKERS AT OUR SCHOOL" being chanted by multiple students

• As she gets closer she sees Callum and the other noughts trying to get through the crowd until one of them gets their head hurt

• There is a big mob so Sephy gets overwhelmed and shouts, " You're all behvaing like animals, worse than animals - like blankers"

• Sephy apologizes for what she said and says that, its just a word that does have much meaning

• Sephy realizes the deep meaning fo the slur

• Asks his mum if he recalls how she was friends with Mrs Hadley before

• They are watching TV and see Kamal Hadley being questioned about his choice to allow noughts in schools

• Her dad is being questioned about the choices to allow noughts into schools and he's denying nay rumors being spread

• This gets the whole family into a big fight and even the parents get involved with shaming Callum because he is friends with a cross girl

• Whilst Mr Jason is teaching, he appears to show a lot of aggression towards Callum because he is poor and a nought.

• He is asking Callum many questions hoping to catch him wrong although Callum answers ll of the correct and even surprises the class with the fact that he knows more than Mr Jason

• Its time for lunch, the noughts have a separate table in the lunch hall, Sephy goes to sit with them.

• She tries to befriend the noughts despite the judgeful eyes

• A teacher comes and drags Sephy away from them and create a big scene

• Sephy is mad that Callum didn't do anything to stop the teacher from dragging Sephy away and calls him a hypocrite

He goes to Sephy's hosue and wants to see Sephy but Mrs Hadley kicks him out

• She says its because he never once came to visit her

• Callum reveals he ran to her house everyday and each time he got turned down by Mrs Hadleys assistant

• He overhears Mr Costa and Ms Paxton talking about how the Noughts are treated unfairly

• Mrs Paxton leaves and sees Callum

• Callum tells Mrs Paxton about how unfair the Noughts have been treated especially by Mr Jason

Mrs Paxton reveals that Mr Jason axts that way because he is ashamed of himself and he is half- nought

• Minerva reveals that Sephy has a brother from their dad before he got married to their mum.
