         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>In this lesson, students will learn about </strong>traveling sounds through different mediums using low-cost, no-cost material and describe the scientific process of producing sound and how we can hear it. <strong>In this lesson, students will get the opportunity to learn about how sound waves travel and what medium is needed to travel sound waves to hear. Furthermore, students will be able to observe, predict, make hypotheses, measure, compare, reflect, and record their observations while manipulating different activities in the lesson. This process will develop students' problem-solving, critical thinking, and science process skills by exploring the process of producing sound, mediums of traveling sound, and answering given lesson questions with justification and reflection. Teaching and learning about sound, its medium to travel and the process of producing sound only in the classroom theoretically cannot develop students' deep and scientific understanding, hence, the lesson-based learning method is an effective teaching technique to develop students' problem-solving, critical thinking, reflection, and science process skills. In lesson-based learning students manipulate material, observe, predict, and find answers through research, discussion, challenging each other's ideas, clarifying ideas, and providing feedback and inquiry instead of memorizing facts and figures. Therefore, I have selected a lesson-based learning method to teach this concept.</strong></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Activity 2: Simple Telephone&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 25 minutes</strong></p><p><strong>Required Resources: </strong>Plastic or thermocol glasses or&nbsp; tin cans, some long string (about 5-6 meters), paper clips</p><p><strong>Procedure:</strong></p><p>The teacher will share the following instructions with students in groups on a worksheet.</p><p>1-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Using the plastic glass provided to you, make a small hole in the base of each plastic glass.</p><p>2-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Pass one end of the string through the hole of one glass from the outside of the glass to the inner side.</p><p>3-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Keep a paper clip inside the glass and tie the string to it so that the string does not come out even if pulled.</p><p>4-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Do the same for the second glass.</p><p>5-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Your telephone is now ready.</p><p>6-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Now give one end to a fellow in your group and ask him to keep it close to his ear while you talk into the other end. You must ensure that the string is fully stretched.</p><p><strong>7-&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </strong>If your friend wants to talk then he should keep the open end of his glass close to his mouth and you should then keep your glass next to your ear</p>]]></description>
