Minecraft has ‘subject kits’ which contain challenges about specific subjects and topics.          <description><![CDATA[<p>I met with Erin, our Secondary SENCO to find out about what assistive tech our students will access as they grow up. We also chatted about access arrangements for exams and what is available/permitted. I want to support primary students in being ready for using assistive tech to experience greater independence and success with a long-view that this will increasingly be a part of their lives as they sit exams and enter employment. </p><p><br/></p><p>From next year, all secondary students will have access to Read&amp;Write, a google chrome plug in with loads of features including speech to text/text to speech, highlighting, glossary generation, dictionary including Widgit images, simplifying language and predictive text. It is also approved for use in access arrangements for exams (with some requirements to fulfill) to remove the need for a person to act as scribe or reader. </p><p><br/></p><p>Rolling this out to everyone, not just those accessing learning support or with a diagnosis of dyslexia, is a great example of Universal Design practise. It is free for teachers and easy to install - have a play around with it!</p>]]></description>
