2. When I was going through a difficult time due to a variety of factors, I sensed God's grace. When He helped me get through it, I sensed His grace. Especially since only He has already planned our lives. 2. Before, I always wanted a sibling to play with, to take care of, and to love. I was always felt lonely as a child until I decided to pray for a little brother. Every night, me and my parents would pray to have a new member of the family, particularly a cute, boy. A few months later we got news that my mother was pregnant. My mother's results stated that inside her womb was a baby boy. I jumped out of excitement and at the same time thanking God for He listened to our prayers. It was truly a wonderful and remarkable moment for me and my family.
3. I have come into a conclusion that it is true that God is always there for us, to protect us and to care for us as we are here to care for His creation. God's grace will serve as a shield that will protect us and our lives. Also, our strong faith in God will help us live the best life we can. 2. One of the most unforgettable moments which I experienced and really felt God's grace was when I was younger about 2 years old. I was very sick at that time with a temperature of almost 40 Celsius on the thermometer, so my mother was really worried and tried rushing me to the hospital, but it was raining really hard and there was almost little to no taxis that were passing by. We tried contacting my grandparents and dad, who was currently abroad along with calling an uber, but the rain was so hard that it even affected the signal of my mom's phone and she wasn't able to call them. We waited for about 30 minutes with my mom praying hoping that a taxi or at least the rain wouldn't be that strong anymore as I cried because I wasn't feeling good, until a taxi suddenly appeared which my mom was so glad of. However, it was false hope as the taxi was already full which made my mom almost lose hope. Another 15 minutes pass and the same taxi that was full came back after dropping the other passengers off, and picked my mom and I up. The taxi driver was so kind and told us that our ride would be free because he felt bad for my mom who was waiting out in the rain for a ride for the next 15 minutes with a sick child. When we finally arrived at the hospital and the paediatrician checked me up, if we were to arrive there 30 minutes later, they said that I would have a seizure that would severely affect how I'd develop physically and mentally in my childhood.


3. God is Good. No matter the situation, the place or state we are in. He will never leave us and will forever to continue guiding us because He loves us with all His heart. 

Life itself is and will never be perfect, we all make mistakes but we have an option to chose to make up for it and apologize or give into temptation and seek revenge. Brother Anderous said that we don’t need to win God’s love. We just need to let Him love us. We should also expose ourselves to the people who truly love us. The temptation will always surround us, but we need to keep a distance from it to avoid sin.

2. I believe that God's grace is everywhere. From the moment you wake up until the day ends. I saw people in my life who showed grace to me. I believe that God used them as an instrument. Although I also feel that we see God's grace and love more when facing tough times. Like when my grandma had an accident. She was going to attend church and was walking to get there; it was her morning routine. She was alone at that time and had just rained. Since it rained, the ground was wet; she slipped and fell. She was unconscious at that moment. A couple went to help her and brought her to their tricycle to bring her to the nearest hospital. We got a call from the hospital about what had happened to my grandma. My grandma later found out what had happened to her. She thanked the couple with her whole heart. After that incident, she would always tell me that story and how that couple showed grace.

3. Brother Anderous said that the Lenten season is to clean up or delete something in our lives. We should stay away from the things that will do us no good. I learned that grace is a gift from God. God's grace is always available. I also realized that we should always have the time to pray the rosary. The rosary is something that we can offer Mama Mary.

With the love of God, I will also share his love with others. I will also forgive, help, and comfort them because God is always there for us and loves us so much that we should also let others know that He loves them. 

2. For me, I felt God’s grace whenever I feel down and angry. I can feel him comforting me and helping me calm down. Whenever I’m sad, my friends and family will always make me laugh and I can feel God’s grace through them. And when I’m mad, God will help me calm down and realize why am I mad. Not only do I feel God’s grace when I’m sad or angry but also when I am happy and successful. One time, I wasn’t prepared for my quiz so when I was answering the quiz I was really nervous. I prayed and prayed that I will remember all the lessons discussed by my teacher and that at least I will get a passing score. For some questions, I just guessed the answer and some I knew the answer. Then, when I saw my score I was happy because I still passed and I thanked God for helping me remember the lessons. 

3. After the Lenten Recollection, I realized that God will always be there for us. He will be there when we are successful, and in facing difficulties in life. We should remember that everything is possible because of God. We shouldn’t give up and trust Him, because everything has a reason and he has plans for us. We should not think that life is horrible because in our lives we will be always happy because of God. Sometimes we will be sad and we fail, but that is because God wants us to learn to stand up again. Not only that, but he also created us to help others by being generous, and kind.

I pray to Him whenever I have requested and thank Him for all the countless blessings that He provides for my family and me. By following the Ten Commandments, we become good Christians and followers of God. Lastly, by reading the Bible because as mentioned by Brother Andreus yesterday that every time we gather in God’s place, it becomes a place of miracle, and to let God love you, he loved us first.

2. One of the experiences wherein I feel God’s grace is when I’m experiencing stress, like feeling the struggles in meeting the deadlines of tasks. By God’s grace, I can think that He empowered and enlightened my soul never to give up and have more courage and perseverance in things I do. Another experience of mine is when I have to doubt moments. For instance, sometimes I think about a specific task/thing for me to do, and I doubt whether I can do it. But, I know that God is always with me. That is why I don’t lose hope. Instead, I become more assertive in every obstacle that I face. 

3. After the Lenten Recollection, I’ve gained knowledge that God is good even during our hardships. In this world, no one is perfect except God. No one is good enough except Him, and no one could ever replace His position. I have also learned that we should stop the spread of the virus; instead, we should spread the faith. Our recollection theme is called FAITHdemic because our guest speaker also enumerated ways in which we can extend the faith and for us not to cut our connection with our loved ones. The first one is to “Remove Your Mask in Prayer,” which means to appreciate yourself in who you are because God created each of us unique and different from each other, so we should embrace our flaws and imperfections. Another thing is to “Remove the Distance of the Hearts,” meaning that God wants us united, the devil wants us divided. Next is to “Dirty Your Hands by Being a Servant,” which means we are called to love and help other people. Last but not least is to “Strengthen our Spiritual Immune System” by letting God love us because He loved us first.

          I know I can’t do so much but with God, it is possible. I have sinned repeatedly and have countless shortcomings and flaws, but I can readily go back to God because his grace is always available for me. To strengthen my Spiritual Immune System, I will strive to get my relationship with God strong and faithful. I can be faithful to my God by communicating with Him through prayers, knowing Him more by reading the Bible, and listening to His instruments who bring the good news like preachers, priests, and teachers. Knowing more about my God and what He wants of me, I can respond by loving Him the way He has loved me from the beginning. As stated in James 2:17,  “Faith without action is dead,” and so, my faith and love for God should culminate in action. Service to me would be concretized by feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, clothing the naked, giving shelter to travelers, visiting the sick and the imprisoned, and burying the dead. We all live in communities and when one has a strong spiritual immune system, we can be instruments or models for others as they follow our way of living sustained by God’s grace. With my strong spiritual immune system, I am sure I will be able to resist temptation. I can cast all my cares and anxieties on Him, and allow Him to carry my burdens. With God on my side, how can I fail?

2.       Share some of your experiences wherein you feel God’s grace.

          In the twelve years of my existence on earth, God manifested His Grace upon me countless times, and sharing them all in an essay would not be enough. Let me begin with a recent one. The past quarter of my schooling was tougher than the previous one, but I admit I didn’t put as much effort as before. There were days I felt lazy to do my tasks and I procrastinated a few times. It was God’s grace that despite my shortcomings as a student, He allowed me to remain on the list of the honor roll, and for that, I am truly grateful. Another episode in my life was a day when my tablet suddenly malfunctioned and stopped working. I was so down because all my sketches and some of my school projects were in it. I cried so hard that night and prayed to God for my tablet to get fixed. My Mom brought it to the repair shop but before it even got fixed my Dad surprised me with the latest model of IPad! He himself was overwhelmed upon receiving this gift from someone and He couldn’t thank God enough. God’s grace is outstanding! My old tablet was fixed and I was able to retrieve all my files from it plus I even got a brand new one!

              After listening to Brother Andreus’ life testimonies and sharing of God’s words, I have come to realize the unfathomable grace of God upon me. This season of lent allows me to reflect on His goodness. Lent teaches me to accept the Cross for it is the only way I can find salvation. If God did not die for me and mankind, we would not have the gift of redemption. In my life, I have experienced that despite all my wrongdoings and selfishness, I am continuously being saved. Somehow, God shows me the way to recover and to check myself. Through troubles, heartaches, and failures, He is with me. His faithfulness shines brightest on my darkest day. God loves me so much that He lets me experience heaven here on earth. I am guilty that I sometimes neglect and forget to communicate with Him which results in my spiritual dryness. The recollection is very timely, it is time for FAITHdemic. I must increase my faith by allotting more time with God through prayer and reading the word. I must place my full trust in God and keep following Him until the end. My actions such as saying I love you to my parents, helping a friend in need, and even just doing my part around the house, will surely be able to manifest and spread the love of our Lord. I am not worthy, yet He has loved me with an everlasting love and has continued His faithfulness to me (Jeremiah 13:3).

The same can be said for the individuals you're with and for those who hold a particular place in your heart. We could change our minds, emotions and everything else that makes us evil.

Allowing myself to be exposed to God by opening my heart and accepting Him to love me will help strengthen my spiritual immune system. Letting God into my heart is like a nutrient that will help me develop a strong and healthy spiritual immune system. I will strengthen my relationship with God by praying to Him, attending the holy mass, listening to the word of God, and serving others. I will allow God’s grace to bring about my conversion and the chance of knowing Him better through prayer, doing my obligations as a Catholic, and good works. Temptations will always surround us, but having a strong spiritual immune system, I will be able to resist earthly temptations.

2. Share some of your experiences wherein you feel God’s grace.

I am very thankful to have experienced the grace of God, especially the time when my Lola recovered from dengue. It was one of the most memorable ones. I kept on praying and asked for the intercession of God to restore the health of my Lola. I believe that He was there looking over my Lola. I found joy in that situation because each day, she was recovering. I am thankful to God for healing my Lola. Another experience was just recently while taking an exam in AP. We did not have an internet connection the whole day because of emergency maintenance by the service provider. I only have a data connection. While I was answering the exam, the internet connection was intermittent, and it was only 11 minutes left for me to review my answers. The internet was slow, so I had to refresh the tab. After that, all my answers were gone. I panicked but whispered a short prayer to restore my connection. Then suddenly, a few minutes after, all my answers were back. It was indeed one of my most unforgettable experiences as a student. I always believe that God’s grace is always with us, no matter what we do. In our sufferings and happiness, He is always present. We are not alone, and we can always turn to Him.


3. What are your realizations/insights after the Lenten recollection?

The recollection made me reflect on God’s love for me. Jesus Christ died on the cross to redeem us from sins. His cross symbolizes the pain and suffering that he went through. It depicts the greatest love the world has ever known. His death shows us His love for us, and He gave us a new life. This Lenten season allows me to repent and to renew my heart. God is offering an opportunity for me to have a new life. From now on, I must make prayer to be part of my life, I will also increase my time to meditate on the word of God, and I will magnify God in my life. I will always trust in His faithfulness when things get tough, and when I feel trapped, I will hold on to Him. His grace will transform my fears and anxieties into faith. I will hold on to His promise "I am with you always."

It is because God's knows everything about me and He sees everything my heart's desire. Another is my family, whom  knows me as I am. Accepted as what I am. Let love and be loved by God.

2. One of the most experience where I felt God's grace was when I was born in this world and be one of His child. Other is that I am raised by my loving parents who always support me all the time. He also gave me talents in drawing that I am thankful for. He never fails to guide and protect me in everything.

3. It made me realize that God's love is endless and can't be measure. God's want us to know more about ourselves and surrender it to Him. He wants his children to be united and not divided even if there we encounter a lot of problems. He want his people to serve Him as He served and protect us.

Based on the sharing of Brother Andreus, I shall strengthen my spiritual immune system by exposing my true self to the Lord, and offering myself to him and others wholeheartedly. When I use the term "expose my true self", it means to have no filter when talking to God. Doing this strengthens my faith in Him, furthermore nurturing our relationship. I will communicate with the Lord more frequently through different ways, such as the bible, rosary, or simple prayers as timely as I can. After I have removed my mask in front of God, I will make it a point to serve my duty here on earth, as his disciple. One of the ways I may fulfill my mission is by dirtying my hands for the needy. I will make sure they have food to eat, water to drink, clothes to wear, and a home to live in. It is one of the ways I can truly prove my love and thankfulness, that he has blessed me with a privileged life. Now that we are acquainted with the knowledge of how to reinforce our spiritual immune systems, it is essential for us to learn why it needs to be strengthened. I recently read this bible verse, Proverbs 3:5-6, that I believe fully explains why we need to have a strong spiritual immune system. It states that we need to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight". Our trust in the Lord is not blind nor foolish, for God is good, and he is the only one that knows where our paths in life will lead to. When we build our spiritual immune systems around Him, we become free of temptation, and have the special cognizance that the fate we are being lead to is the best for us.

2. Personally, I feel God's grace every single day when I wake up alive and healthy on this Earth. I undergo the feeling of gratefulness, that I was put in His list of the fortunate children that get to keep their lives for an extended period of time. There are countless other instances wherein I felt God's grace, but I would specifically like mention an instance that happened very recently. A few days ago, my grandmother got into an accident wherein she fell from the stairs and hit her head on a table. We had to rush her to the emergency room so the doctors could examine her and put stitches on her wound. While waiting for the results of her CT scan, I prayed extremely hard to the Lord that he would keep her safe from any further harm. As soon as I finished praying, the doctors said that the injury did not affect her brain or skull in any way, and it was only her skin that got wounded. According to the doctors, if my grandmother hit the floor instead of the table, she would have instantly passed away. I could not help but pray once more to thank God that she did not get further damage from the fall.

3. After Brother Andreus' talk, I was able to gather that God is truly great. All things are possible  with Him, and He cannot be replaced. Since the COVID-19 Virus pandemic started we have been hearing the things that we should do to boost and strengthen our physical immune system. But we are leaving out the most important spiritual tool that we need to strengthen our spiritual system. If our spiritual system is not strengthened, we will be prone to lots of unspiritual diseases such as fear, anxiety, hatred, anger, bitterness, doubt, resentment, envy, unhealthy relationships, depression and negativism. By nourishing our soul well, we can find more joy, self-love, gratitude, and vitality to improve and strengthen our spiritual immune system. When we look at nourishing both types of immune systems (physical and spiritual) it can be challenging, but each has the same basic needs: immune systems need nutritious food, water hydration, exercise, plenty of rest, absence of the junk foods, loving relationships and the need of pure thoughts. We are living in a dangerous world. Just look around you. Everyone is angry, fearful and more pessimistic than at any time in our collective memory. It seems as if there is a pending sense of danger and doom. Something dangerous seems like it is waiting in the wings. To counteract this, we have to carefully and prayerfully, let the Holy Spirit speak to us as we boost our spiritual immune system. And to do so, we must read and study our bible; prayer is like a healthy dose of vitamin C at the first sign of a cold. The first thing we should do when troubles come is meditate on the word, have a clear conscience, attend church regularly, do service to God and to others, develop healthy relationships and lifestyles, give/share, and fellowship with other Christians. We will be healthier spiritually when these principles are implemented consistently. And the healthier we are, the more likely we are to withstand the infections/storms of this world. When you choose to ingest a healthy diet of God’s Word, you will build a spiritual immunity that provides vitality in the midst of all life’s challenging circumstances. 

2.This moment is unlike anything that most of us have ever experienced. The tally of sick and deceased mounts higher every day. We turn on the news or look out our windows to see empty streets and darkened buildings. We are cut off from one another, passing our days in varying degrees of isolation. Worries about our health, finances, and the future we had planned dominate our thoughts. Saints like Ignatius of Loyola enjoin us to "find God in all things," yet, in moments of crisis like the present, we may find ourselves wondering, "Where is God in all this?" It may feel to some that God is simply absent.

3.We’re highlighting Lenten practices and memories of people who have shared their stories with us. Their experiences range from pious and traditional to creative and out-of-the-ordinary, but all of them represent attempts to make the season of Lent a meaningful time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving for themselves, their loved ones, and their communities. Invite family members to share their thoughts, hopes, and desires for Lent. Decide to support one another in whatever you choose to do.   • I should allow God into my life and think about him everyday. Through prayer, I can talk to him and have comfort. I should share the word of the Lord to my family and friends to show my appreciation of his love and sacrifice. I should make time for church and seldom read the bible to learn valuable lessons.

    1. When I was at my old school, I’d often pray to get good grades for exams and ask for wisdom and help to succeed. He always granted me my wishes and he would always bring me comfort when I was feeling blue. 

    1. God loves us and we should show others his love and sacrifice as well. We should be good children and stewardesses of god and share his word and follow in his steps. He gave us rules and examples to follow and we should do them in order to be a good person.

I can strengthen my spiritual system by being honest not only to others, but also to myself and God. We should open up to God and expose ourselves to him so in that way, we can strengthen our bond with him. We must have faith in God and hope that with him, we are protected. Trusting God is one of a must, we should rely on him for he is the light on the dark. We should always ask for His guidance and in return, we will obey His commandments and inspire people to do the same.

    2. I have a lot of experience where I felt God's grace. One of them was when I was born in this cruel yet beautiful world. I believe it is cruel because other's proceed to do such bad things. We should help each other and make this world a better place. Another one of the experience when my sister was almost hospitalized. Apparently, she had a heart burn and I prayed to God to save her. Fortunately, He heard my prayers which made me really glad. I will proceed to keep on doing good things and ignore all the sins and temptations that comes in my way with the help of our Jesus Christ.

    3. When I thought about it, it occurred to me that when you're going through a difficult time, everything may be conveyed through Lord. After the Lenten Recollection, I learned that God wants us to rejoin as a family, and that we should genuinely have one another, for the evil want us to be separated from the family, and tempt us to do bad things. We should have complete faith in God to assist us in our necessities, such as family issues or other significant issues. Relying on God and doing what is right is a must. We must reject evil and always love God for he is the light on our path. Like what others said, "we must work hard to obtain good things." In order to get what you want, we must work hard but we should also rest from time to time whenever we feel tired. Allowing God to enter my heart is a nutrient that will aid in the development of a strong and healthy spiritual immune system. By praying to God, attending holy mass, hearing to God's word, and serving others, I will improve my relationship with Him. I will trust in God's mercy to bring about my conversion and the opportunity to know Him more through prayer, fulfilling my Catholic commitments, and doing good actions. Temptations will always be present, but I will be able to withstand earthly temptations because I have a powerful spiritual immune system.


    2. I experienced God's grace many times, particularly during this pandemic. Today, I felt God's grace because all of us, including myself and my family, had remained protected from the virus. Another aspect of my daily life is the meals we receive and the location where we stay. All of our possessions, in my opinion, are a result of God's grace.

By loving and serving God, as well as fulfilling our responsibility as God's stewards, I can improve my Spiritual Immune System.     2.I've now experienced God's grace on numerous occasions throughout my life. The most important period was when my family was going through a difficult time. At such a young age, I had to watch my family fight every day, and my father was always absent due to work. Every day, I felt hopeless and miserable, yet I prayed through it all. Every day, I prayed as much as I could, wishing that all of our worries would disappear. And little by little, my family was pulling themselves back together. Those times were tough, but I learnt a very valuable lesson. God is always there for us, and guides us everyday.

    3. I learnt so much insights and lessons after the Lenten recollection. Brother Anderous gave all of us a valuable lesson in our lives. His segment was my favorite part of the recollection, this is because he applied God in all of his decisions, and everything became well for him. There were some trials, such as his mother's passing. But he went all through these hardships with the help of God's guidance. After the recollection, I reflected about all the things I have done.     - Based on the sharing of Brother Andreus, I will be sure to utilize all that I have learned from his talk. I will be sure to thank him each day that i wake up, another day to worship him and be a disciple of his mission. Although I have school, my social and my private life to manage, I will indefinitely clear my schedule to make time for him and him only. I will expose myself to God, I will be honest and turn to him without any type of malice or anger. My faith, hope, and trust are all placed in him, as he has proved countless times how much he unconditianally loves and accepts us as his children. I will be an instrument of his mission, sharing the kindness and mercy he's bestowed upon as many times. Praying for others, even those who are my enemies. I will show understanding in any type of situation, even when the tables are turned against me. I will become a result of God's love, I will not be shy with sharing it to my fellow siblings just like how God never hesitated to give us a great amount of chances to prove ourselves, to change and repay him for his kindness, even though he does not require us to.

    2. Share some experiences wherein you feel God's grace.
    - There have been countless times where i have felt the infinite love and grace of the Lord being bestowed upon me. There was a time while i was in elementary school where my guardian was late to come and get me from school. I was sitting at the gate anxious and as the child that i was, i started to cry. But not long after that, I still vividly remember a lady selling hats outside the gate offering her phone to me so that I could call my guardian, I made sure to thank her and eventually I was able to get home safely. To this day I thank God for said kind lady, i admit that i shouldn't have trusted a stranger so easily, but with God's grace that lady had no bad intentions and did nothing but show kindness to me and help me. That lady has definitely made an impact on me, she showed me that we should help each other as brothers and sisters and has helped me become more understanding, and i truly do believe that she is one of the many instruments of Christ. Of course, this isn't the only experience I've ever had, God has bestowed me with his grace in these present times too. Though these past quarters have been hard, with the endless cycle of deadlines and the feeling of having to satisfy the expectations burdened on us students, God has been with me through every step on this journey in UST. There have been multiple days and nights where i was disoriented, feeling overwhelmed to the point that it affected my behavior, like how i responded and how some of my good habits were broken. And so i turned to God, and I feel as though that was the best decision I've ever made. Talking to him felt refreshing, it was as if a burden was lifted from my shoulders. 

    3. What are your realizations/insights after the Lenten Recollection
    - God will always be with us, he always has been.
