Alexander's empire reached three continents. Those continents were Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Philip the 2 admired the Greeks especially their ideas, armies, and art. He wanted to unite Greece to defeat the mighty Persian empire. He trained his men to fight like the Greeks and took over the city states one by one.

After Alexander the Great's death the Macedonian empire was split into four kingdoms because the generals were fighting for power. His death prevented him from expanding his empire even further. This also prevented him from power possibly creating a more civilized central Africa.

Alexander the Great was brave and courageous. He rode into battle ahead of his army even though it would risk his own life. He helped to expand Macedonian and Greek rule. Alexander and his army spread Greek ideas,art, architecture, and language.

When crossing the Indus River, Alex and soldiers fought bloody battles. The soldiers refused to continue into India to fight due to the weariness of war. Alexander agreed to lead them home.

One way he tried to unite his kingdom Was to get his soldiers to marry Asian woman. This made a sense of equality. He also built the city of Alexandria which helped people unify in business and trade. Pg. 177-178
