In the case of whether intuition and instinct leans more towards empiricism or rationalism, the answer is both. Specifically looking at empiricism in the realm of intuition and instinct, we can see that our knowledge base relies largely on our experiences and sense to give us information. We use this information to further our intuitive and instinctual knowledge.

In rationalism, there is the idea that when humans are born, they are born with prior knowledge known as innate ideas. These innate ideas such as, how to suck, cry, grasp and more could possibly explain instinctual behaviours. Babies are not instructed on how to do these things, they are merely human instict. In this sense instinct relies on rational ideals.

Truth, in the realm of intuition and instinct is both absolute and relative. Absolute truth is evident in this way of knowledge. It can be said to be absolute specifically for instinctual drives because this type of knowledge is engraved in the subconcious. These instinctual drives are fixed and invariable within oneself. For intuition, some things are known as fixed or unchanging. An example is in ethics. Ethical things are intuitively right and wrong, therefore being absolute truths. Many other things also qualify as being intuitivly absolute.

Truth, in the realm intuition and instincts is both relative and absolute. Relative truth is quite clear when looking into intuition, but not so much for instincts. In intuition things can change depending on the experience and it varies from person to person. We can be led astray by our instincts because intuition itself is not perfect and we often make judgements thinking that they are intuitive, but they are not. People can have different intuitions and your own intuitions could be in conflict with each other ultimately leading to relative truths.

We can not yet fully comprehend the complexities of our body and its system workings but it is important to listen to our intuitions and instincts as our body does know best even if we do not understand. From learning about our intuitions and instincts we can futher our understanding of other types of knowledge and we can learn about our own personal biases or others and even discount some as illusions.
