In this modern era, social media is one of famous technology in the world. Almost students in the world use social media for language learning process that can help them to find all of the information there. We know that social media have some advantages and disadvantages for our real life. We cannot blame that social media only give a disadvantages for the students through the language learning process. The students can use social media to learn and find out something that related with what they have learned in a school.

Then, social media also can make a connection between one students and the teacher outside the class. We know that Facebook is one of social media that can make connection between the students and the teacher. Generally, the students always find something new that they haven’t known before with social media. They can make a group in social media for share about anything new or some information. So, with this argument, I think social media can appropriate for language learning process.

There are so many kinds of social media which are provided on Internet, eg: Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Path, etc. Those things let us connect to all around the globe which means that all news, information, knowledge, etc are provided within them and people will just by "click", they can get beyond their expectation.

Through this amazing advantage, language learners are able to enhance and broaden their knowledge, especially in improving their language competence. Social media allows us to study, learn, and acquire language by reading the postings on social media. Also, we are able to improve our listening ability by videos that have uploaded, etc.

However, these advantages will be better if we consider some aspects in learning language.

1. Connection

Learning by social media will be nonsense when the connection is low, because what students are looking for is being loaded, stopped, buffered, etc. so that they are not able to get the information completely.

2. Teachers' Guidance

Teacher or educator's guidance is necessary needed in this process. They let students know which links and sites they are about to open and visit. They have to tell students which sites in prohibited and not allowed to visit.

3. Security of Internet

Security is supposed to be one of the important consideration, because the policy of school which has the authorities to block certain website, is able to resist students in opening "dangerous" sites.

In the other hand, as we know technology has positive and negative effect, for example the negative effect of technology especially social media are waste of time, anti social, subversive and act. Nowadays, we know that technology is very advance and it depend on our self how to use it and you can take the benefit of the social for learn language.

Firstly, it is portable, we can learn English language from social media everywhere and every time when we have a spare time or break time after class and maybe when we doing thing in bathroom.

Secondly, every day the teenagers using social media, imagine if in one day the teenagers read one English article or status and gain one vocabulary, if the students discipline to keep one word each day, imagine how many word that the students will have in a year, a lot.

Third, social media is the best alternative media for language learning because there are huge number of people who using social media, and it is effective for beginner who want to learning language but feeling reluctant to open a thick book or dictionary, just open the social media and follow social media account that serve free English learning every day.

Facebook is the most popular and the most used until now, for me it is ok if someone wants to learning from facebook or blog, as far as it can give benefit to the learners.

I think is not fair if we just think about weaknesses about facebook, so here I will share about the strength about facebook too.

From facebook we can learn:

1.Language

Because we have a lot of friends around the world that using different language while write status or something in facebook.

2. Reunion

Most of us have many friend in the real world and sometimes we are separated with them but who knows? That old friends can meet in facebook so their silahturahim still connected.

In this era, social media is important for us. Why ? Because everything in social media is can be knowledge for us. For example we can learning English language from facebook or blog that provide how to be success English language with faster.

There are so many aspect that we can get from language learning by social media. The first is independent aspect, from language learning we can do anything about language learning by my self, for example we want to study translate something from social media. The second is more simple, with social media facebook or blog we can study without go in special place to learning, because with social media we can learning by handphone, tablet, computer or laptop.

For the impact, sometimes with social media the students is more focus to play facebook (chat, like, etc) than study from language learning. so that the teacher must be observe students that what is the students learn of facebook or blog.

  Firstly, there are a lot of games in facebook. It is good if the game can teach us. Maybe like scrabble and others. But in reality game on facebook are bad for students. The games on there can distract students focus on study, can make students addicted to the game moreover some games has violent in them. That’s bad effect is really bad for students.

  Secondly, if the students always open this social media, they will waste their time on study. Look around you. Do you remember when the first time we use facebook in the internet? The teenegers or students spent their money to the internet café for online. Not just spent money it is also wastes their time. Usually they spent 3 hours for study at home, but when the students know about this social media, their time for study automatically reduce because of it.

  The last, bullying everywhere. Nowadays if the teenagers or student have a problem with their friends, they prefer to bully their friends in this social media, actually that’s not good. If they do that the whole world would know. It will make that students low confidence and many more.

In this modern era, social media is the most popular technology that can use in a lot of sector like business, society, also education. Most of students have social media, more than one social media, they use social media every times they can, because social media can help their study. How can social media help their study?  For example they make a group in their class for sharing materials that they needs in their study.

So, I think social media is appropriate for language learning because there are a lot of information that can we know and we share. Social media is appropriate for language learning but, we must to filter word and sentence in some social media, because in social media we can learn language not only English but also the other language. Social media will be useful when we can use it wisely.

There are some aspect that we can get from social media.

In social media, we can learn autonomous learner, or join with the other friends. For example, we can get friends from the other country (native speaker of English) and we can video call or chatting with them and learn about the correct pronunciation. And then, good aspect that we can get from blog we know how to write a good article or essay in English.

For the impact in Social media, sometimes social media make us addicted and lazy for do something and then we addicted the fast connection for use social media.

In my opinion, social media like a blog is appropriate for language learning because it can motivate and stimulate the student in reading some texts and they can write a comment about the text that they have read. When the students write their respond about the text that written in the blog, they can get a feedback from the other people who read the text so they can discuss and share their comment or respond about the text. By using a blog, the student also write their opinion, ideas, and the other paragraph that can improve their writing skill and can promote the critical thinking. In addition, the student can access a blog anytime and anywhere they want to access it. In addition, the student can access a blog anytime and anywhere they want to access it. To conclude that, using a social media in language learning can help the student in learning process and it has many advantages for both of student and teacher.

In my opinion, technology is very useful in human daily life as we know social media is kind of technology that we cannot leave such as Face book, Email, Google, act. Because it can support all our needs and Based on the survey Indonesia has been the 4^th biggest country that use face book in the world. Not only Indonesia but also all countries are using technology to assist them in many aspects. The young people probably know and use the technology for example; to study, to playing game, act. For learning, social media can be very effective way to learn some of the subject of study such as Android we can find many lessons on it. A blogs is good for improve the writing skills and to express our critical thinking.

Based on my experience, social media is appropriate in language learning, especially for using blog and facebook. Social media can minimize our time to share our result about research that we have or get information about our class schedule, our assignment and anything we will knows. In the other hand, many teachers used blog, facebook, twitter, to share their project and sometimes the teacher used gmail, yahoo, to give their syllabus for their students or the changes of the schedule. How about blog? It is can help our learning? Yeah, of course blog is one of the kinds in social media. Blog is also can make easier for us to share our project or to get new knowledge. Social media can make us become an independent learner, why? Because with the social media can increase our information seeking. However, social media have negative impact. For example, sometimes the students focus on games or anything and also make students lazier than before.

In my humble opinion about social media;  there are always two sides about it. Positive side and negative side, it is depends with the human, because human are the creator and also the user. Connection is one of important things, and social media make human easy to connect, easy to have a connection. Around 5 years ago are the time for me to face for the first time with the social media.

Social media have many purposes, in educational side also. Let’s take an example about Facebook, we can make a group there, we can gather information about education. It also can increase the external students and teachers motivation.

Even Social media such as Facebook have advantages, it also have disadvantages. Facebook can cause addiction for the user such as a drug. When you open it first, it will not end soon, there will be domino effect after that. You as a user will open and opened again for many reason, firstly maybe can increase the knowledge because education that you got from it, but compare with the benefit information, there are a lot of information that nonsense for me, doesn’t make sense. Yup! In the end it only wastes your time.

In my opinion social media such us facebook is not appropriate for language learning because there are many users for all age. The example children they spend half of their time to play facebook without remember the first project to study so, I think this media have a bad effect or influence children become reluctant to study. Then blog, I think this media is appropriate in language learning because this media very funny because we can share your creativities, such us we can share your privacy sharing with other user blog. While in this media we can get some critic from other user. But, from critic I can correct my wrong and I feel happy with this.

I think using social media for language learning is inappropriate because:

First, time wastage. If student using social media when learning language it possible if they will lost focuses. They may attracted to using social media sites and sometimes they forget why they are using internet. This wastes their time and sometimes students are not able to deliver their work in the specified time frame.

Second is Multitasking. When student learning using social media, it possible they will open another page that make them lost focuses and may make them miss the lesson. And it possible they will playing online game.

My opinion about socia­­­­l media for language learning is not really necessary because there are still many forums, weblogs, that could help for studying language.

The using for social media is really depend on the person who using it. Social media now days is more like an entertainment, social media offers a wealth of resources and information where people can discuss and expand on hobbies, interests rather than for language learning although there still people who use it for learning such as connect the students with the teacher in learning process.

I do believe that language learning should be studied happily. Thus, I consider some aspects that using social media is an appropriate way for language learning.

First aspect is, knowledge and technology cannot be separated. Now day is technology era, every aspect in this world almost all need technology, moreover we need technology to be an alternative method for language learning. Based on that statement, I agree that using social media is an appropriate way for learning language. For example, the students can chat to their friend using face book, twitter by using foreign language.

Second aspect is enjoyable place, the students need have place to practice their foreign language enjoyable. In the social media they can share what they feel for example they can share what they feel or think by using their foreign language. Indirectly, they often practice their language learning and it will make them customary using their language learning as habit.

By this way I do believe that it can be fun language learning by the students because they do it by their intention without any commanding from their teacher.

In my opinion, social media and blog are appropriate for language learning. Facebook and blog have advantages and disadvantages to language learner. I think learner can use facebook and blog to learning language. The aspects which considers to my opinion like Media, social media and blog are the example of media which we can use to share knowledge. We can look for or share our knowledge easily by social media. I think it more efficient than we look for manually. Social media using is based on IT, so we should learn about IT especially IT policy. Learners can learn together with teacher how to use social media as learning language media, teachers can give example of it.

Then, learners may learn about the culture. For example, someone learn a language he should learn about culture. The culture may include how people use the language, how to apply the language in some situation, and unusual words. Learners can learn about culture without visit the area directly. There are a lot of people from different country whose join social media, learners can take example of them. The other reason, by using social media learners may find more friend and study together about language. They can study easily anytime or in the free time. Learners take more knowledge from different people.

In my opinion, Technology has become a natural part of everyday life and is now infiltrating the language education sector. Social media is appropriate for learning language especially to using Facebook and Blog for teenagers because that’s important to get more information, knowledge and this enables students to develop communication and language skill. Facebook can use to communication with all of people in world. Also, Blog can share more information, knowledge about anything. Teenagers spend a significant amount of time everyday on the internet on networking sites. Teenagers use social networking sites to share information with others, connect with friends, create new friends, send messages and comment on others’ profiles pages.

but if we use Facebook it is not appropriate for learning process. Because that media is not effective. Nowadays, Facebook more use for as entertainment not for learning process.

Blog is more effective because it has more information like we want. Usually, we can see some article in blog for  find information about learning like find some teaching and learning medias for individual or group . So, I think many knowledge that can get  from that blog best on their own talent.

In my point of view, I think that Blog are Facebook appropriate for language learning. we can find that blog more clearly for learning. Sometimes the people who write in Blog, they have creative thinking what they want to share about issue in language learning. Although we will not be able to communicate and socialize effectively in person with others, we can know what the popular things in era are. For example, some people mostly use slang words or shortened forms of words on social networking sites. They start relying on the computer grammar and spelling check features. we can know that it is bad news so we can understands about it. The considerations that we have to apply are parent guidance for children, sometime the parent do not care what their children do, so that why parent’s role is the most important. Secondly, types of software. It means that what we search has advantage and developing progress.

Consider the following positive influences of social networking technologies on education:

1.Socializing: An important part of growing up, is to socialist and make friends. Why this is important? It is because, it allows the children to exchange ideas and learn new things. The more they interact, the more they learn. This will invariably result in them becoming more confident in life. 2. Sharing knowledge: It provides an easy and an effective way in which students can share knowledge. Online data is available to all (unless the restrictions are put against them from the ones who share) . Students can easily access the data, learn, modify (if needed) and share. Hence, the flow of knowledge becomes smooth.

3. Updating oneself: What better way can students know about what is happening around the world if not for social networking technologies? They will be able to know new things as and when it happens. This helps them update their own knowledge base.

4. Learning from various sources: The social networking technologies are built in such a manner that students will be able to choose the group, activity or the person they would want to follow for daily updates. If students were to follow an education site, or an educator, or an institute they may want to go to for higher studies, or a technology they want to keep a tab on; all these and more can be done via social networking technologies. Even thought social media have positive effect, but still there must be restrictions in the use of these social media . Let alone for children they should be in the supervision of parents . Every social media have the advantages and disadvantages of each depends on who is the user.
