Candidates participating in edTPA will be exempt from the Principles of Learning and Teaching assessment requirement if they can produce evidence of meeting the NC DPI established passing standard for the officially scored assessment.
Beginning September 1, 2019, all candidates seeking initial licensure in North Carolina will be required to submit qualifying scores on the appropriate edTPA performance-based, subject-specific assessment.
