MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
You can click here to play audio
I believe that everyone has potentials! We all have unique inert gifts which if properly harnessed could lead us to a very successful life. However, we all need the right mentor, guide, coach, and I dare say teacher, to help us actualize our God- given potentials. I love to inspire, to motivate, to teach, to train, to coach, to facilitate growth, to empower and contribute to human capacity development. Teaching gives me the opportunity to flexibly apply a combination of these roles to help learners actualize their potentials.
Knowledge is power, knowledge is the key that unlocks many shut doors to self-actualization, doors to the next level, doors to our destiny, doors to success, doors that lead to greatness and doors that open to opportunities for the highest achievement a student can reach. Teachers facilitate knowledge sharing, knowledge transfer, knowledge assimilation, knowledge retention, knowledge application. I believe that if I have the gift of knowledge of a content area and or the gift of facilitating the acquisition of knowledge, I have an equally strong responsibility to be a vessel of enlightenment, a vessel to uplift, a channel of inspiration, a conduit for liberating the un- empowered by being that flashlight, that signpost that they need to adjust to the bright light.
I believe I should be a conduit through which the learners' lives are illuminated, indeed not only their lives but their world. Therefore, as a teacher, I must become that conduit through which learners begin to understand the value of illumination and ultimately the value of knowledge from which they can craft a vision. With vision comes inspiration and the motivation to run with the mission, running requires further illumination which leads to mastery of skills (needed to win the marathon) and indeed the cycle is endless.
The above represents my concept of my role as a gift to both my adult and young students, my protégées and all those I coach. As I mentioned earlier, my purpose in this role as a teacher is to be a coach, guide, counselor, mentor, knowledge transfer facilitator and vehicle to help learners achieve their desired transformation. To be a channel through whom students identify opportunities to advance to higher levels of creativity, critical thinking, problem solving expertise, and multifaceted accomplishments. I hope to equip my students with a toolkit for a successful career, help my students learn theory, expose them to practical applications and everything legitimate in between that could possible help them move up in life. I also hope to be able to help learners develop in every sphere of life in addition to my core content area and areas of expertise, I am passionate about helping my students recognize and appreciate their inert potentials, and to help them gain the most valuable education they can get.
Ultimately I hope to " get back" at this world for making me so multi -talented by developing my very own "cloning ensemble" of multi-talented, self-aware, self- confident, hardworking, ambitious, insightful, innovative, creative, empathetic, philanthropic, humanitarian, focused, culturally sensitive, emotionally intelligent, purposeful, highly motivated, highly creative life-long learners ... who are ready to soar!!!!
*******************
CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
In the syllabus I listed my expectations and guidelines for conduct in this course. I wish to remind everyone that I love a classroom experience that is free from technology distractions and so all devices must be put away except when we use them for a course related activity. Also I pay a lot of attention to the expectation that all work submitted is original work and students are expected to verify all assignments with Turnitin.

I love participation by all students as I believe we learn so much from each other. I am also very passionate about project -based and hands-on group activities.
Be prepared to collaborate on projects and group multimedia presentations
***********************
Next I would like each of you to kindly mention one or two behaviors you would like to see during our interactions in this course.
YOUR TURN- Double click anywhere on the blank area of the canvas to begin typing your response.
