In random order, write each of the nine letters in a grid on the board. Set a timer for one minute and ask students to write down as many words as they can find. After the one minute is up have students swap their papers to be marked. Students receive one point for every word that is correctly spelt and two points for the nine-letter word. The student with the most points wins and then chooses the next nine-letter word to write on the board.
