         <description><![CDATA[<div>1 The Missouri Compromise stated that everything below a set line was slave and everything above was free. It's purpose was to keep the balance of free to slave states.<br>2 The Missouri Compromise did not last because some states wanted to be free that were below the line.<br>3 California was admitted as a free state, slave trade topped in DC, New Mexico and Utah were open to chose, and the Fugitive State Law was outlawed.<br>4 It's purpose was to take the place of the Missouri Compromise.<br>5 The Fugitive State Law was a law that stated everyone could not help escaped slaves. The North was not happy because they wanted to abolish slavey and the South was happy because that meant they got their slaves back.</div>]]></description>

The Missouri Compromises purpose was to keep the peace/ balance between slave and free states.<br>2. No, because it keep the balance but it didn't solve the actual issue on slavery. Also some states below the line wanted to be free and some states above the line wanted to be slave.<br>3.a) CAlifornia admitted as a free state&nbsp;<br>b) New Mexico/ Utah were open to slavery&nbsp;<br>c)Slave trade ended in DC<br>d) Fugitive Slave law outlawed helping runaway slaves&nbsp;<br>4.To help meet both of the sides requests and to keep the peace.<br>5.The North felt like it was unfair and that the law supported the South. The Missouri compromise was made to divide the U.S. in two one being slave free and the other having and owning slaves.<br>2.Not really because after a while others became anxious and then new states would join in the north but want slaves. so no.<br>3.California admitted as a free state, New mexico/utah were open to slavery, slave trade ended in DC, fugitive slave law outlawed assisting run away slaves<br>4. to take the place of the Missouri compromise<br>5. the fugitive slave law banned people to stop helping slaves and that slaves would be sent back when found.</div>]]></description>
