In education, we often use tech to do the same things we've always done in slightly different ways. Until we begin using it in transformational and transcendent ways, we won't see a shift on its impact in education.

Technology itself is such a catch all word. Learning is impacted by specificity, so thinking in terms of generality does not help us to achieve our goals.

Most all of our work with technology has revolved around T1, and sometimes T2, by simply doing tasks we typically do, but with technology. i.e. reading text on a screen rather than a physical book, or using MS Word instead of a typewriter. There is has been little T3 work to transform our work and thinking

It's used like a bubble - to have fun and entertain without the learning goals being clearly defined before use. When the real learning needs to happen the bubble bursts and shows how students can use the tech but may not be able to take it to other places.

Technology moves at a breakneck pace. Educators need more professional development around Ed Tech to feel confident enough to teach through it.

Often, students have more knowledge.

A focus on the tool as an end v. a focus on the thinking or learning that is intended to be elicited or sparked.
