         <description><![CDATA[<div>The battle of Verdun came about because the German Chief of geberl staff, Erich von Falkenhayn wanted to "bleed France white." He planed on doing this by launching a massive attack on a narrow area of land that was important to to France. This point was imprtant to France because it ws the strongest point in prewar France. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There were many forts in the battle of Verdun. One of the biggest forts being Fort Douaumont. Very many forts got destroyed. The water systems the forts had alowed each sodier have 5 liters of water a day but because of the damage done by the Germans it went down to an eighth of a liter per soldier. The Germans used grenades, flame throwers,  guns, and many more things that helped the German soldiers to invade the French forts. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> A key event of the Verdun battle was when Fort Douaumont fell on the 25th of Febuary it was France's main deffence so when that happend it gave Germany a leg up. On April 9th German soldiers launch amajor atrack on both sides of the Meuse.  June 3rd through 8th Fort Vaux is surronded and is forced to surrender ther key posistion.  July 11th through 12th the last major German offensive of Operation Gericht fails to take Souville.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think when France won the battle it helped them in many ways. Like influencing Frances millitary and the people and government of France. I feel the win of this battle helped the France have hope. I know during this war everyon lost there moral but once they one it was like a weight has lifted the battle was over and France came out Victorius. I think the use of technology really efected the war. During this time the millitary's weapons were getting more and more advanced. These weapons help to fend of the openent but these technoligies also made it so that so many lives were lost. </div>]]></description>
