The origin of the Lantern Festival/How is the Lantern Festival celebrated?

Translation:
The first question I want to ask is what is the origin of the Lantern Festival?
The origin of the Lantern Festival dates back to the time when Emperor Wu of Han had an Imperial maid named Nguyen Tieu who was forbidden to visit her parents on the 15th day of the first lunar month (meaning the first full moon day of the year). There is a Mandarin who kindly offered the king a plan that heaven would send the Fire God to burn down the palace on January 16, so everyone had to hang a red lantern in front of the house and asked the Imperial maid to make floating cakes. Mandarin offered floating cakes to the Fire God so that the Fire God would skip incinerating the royal palace and the king remembered the Imperial maid’s gratitude, so he let the Imperial maid visit her family on the full moon day of the month. From that legend, we still keep that custom to this day, Tet Nguyen Tieu is also known as the Tet of Reunion and the Tet of Joy.

How is Tet Nguyen Tieu celebrated?
To this day, in the Chinese community in Vietnam that celebrates the Lantern Festival, there will be people in the temples and the country halls who will transform/dress up themselves into fairies to parade before the Lantern Festival for everyone to bestow blessings. So families can go to the temple to attend the ceremony to see the parades and the dragon dances, lion dances, and to offer incense. To pray for peace for the family and everyone for the whole year and wish each other good wishes and reunite together to eat floating cake.

Why do we continue to celebrate the Lantern Festival/What risks and threats affect whether the Lantern Festival will last over time?

Translation:
Why do you think we continue to celebrate the Lantern Festival?
According to me, this is a long-standing custom in the Chinese community passed down from China. It is a bond between generations in the family and between people in the community. It is a beautiful custom we should need to maintain
How has Tet Nguyen Tieu changed over time? When mom was young, how was the ceremony and how is it now?
The way of organization has not changed, but the members participating are less than before because young people now are busier with modern life, those 70s, and 80s like I am still participating in or 60s still participate.

What risks and threats do you see that have affected the Lantern Festival and do you think the Lantern Festival will still be in the future eg about 20 years?
The threat is that due to the busy life of young people 2k now, those young people are less involved, but now there are also advantages such as thanks to tools like Facebook, Instagram or Tiktok or other social networking tools. Social Media will be spreading and known by more young people and I also hope that those young people will spend more time participating in festivals like Tet Nguyen Tieu but I think it will still exist in 20 years. There will be groups who love the old tradition, and people will rely on social media and spread it widely to young people so it won’t be lost, fade away and still last
