In Jabari Jumps, by Gaia Cornwall, Jabari wants to jump off the diving board in the beginning of the story. But when he goes on the line, he hides a scary feeling and says to every kid behind him: "You can go first." He was thinking of a jump. When it was his turn, he got up, up, but he said, "I'm tired”. so he went back down and told his dad that he was scared in a way. His dad said, "When I do something scary, I take a deep breath and think it is a surprise." Jabari thought he loved surprises, though and he wanted to not be scared. So he took a DEEP, BIG breath and got calm. He got up, up and up. Then, he jumped down, down and down. Under water he went. then back up, up, and up. He did it and he was not scared anymore.

in Williams Doll by Charlotte Zolotow, The problem is that William wants a doll, but his father thinks its only for girls. His brother thinks that he is a Creep. and the boy living next door calls him a sissy. This is a problem because William just wants a doll but his father won't give him one. and William is being bullied by his own brother and by the boy living next door. for example "a doll" "don't be a creep!" said Williams brother "sissy sissy sissy" said the boy next door. This is where the problem began. Later on in the story William's grandmother visits, and William tells her about how he wants a doll, but that his brother and the boy living next door call him a sissy and a creep. also how his dad gets him everything except for a doll. so Williams grandmother gets him a doll, a doll with blue eyes, curly eyelashes, a white dress and a bonnet. just like Nancy. but when Williams father hears about the doll he gets mad. that is the problem in Williams Doll.

The dragon is very rude at the beginning because he burns the castle and takes prince Ronald. We think that Elizabeth is very brave because she went after the dragon to free prince Ronald. The dragon was a bit of a showoff when Elizabeth asked him if it was true that he could burn down fifty forests and fly around the world in ten seconds. She did this because she knew the dragon would get exhausted and then the dragon would fall asleep and she could get prince Ronald.

Emily and Leon decided to write about Those Shoes. Antonio needs new shoes because his shoes are taped up. Brandon T. is a showoff. He went to the bathroom 7 times in 1 day just to walk slowly in the hall, because the main character used to be the fastest runner until Brandon got those shoes. The main character was really kind in the end of the story, because when he finally got those shoes, they were too tight, but Antonio needed new shoes, so the main character gave those shoes to Antonio, and they fit him just right!

In Those Shoes, the main character, Jeremy, is very kind and caring because in the book, Jeremy really wants the shoes that everyone has. Everyone except Antonio. When Jeremy finally gets those shoes, he was so happy. The book said, "My heart was pounding hard as I take off my shoes and hitch up my baggy socks." But then, he realized they were too tight! After that, he noticed Antonio needed new shoes, because they were taped up, so he gave the shoes to Antonio. This goes to show that Jeremy is very kind and caring.

We both decided on the book the paper bag princess. we chose to focus on the dragon. The dragon is very rude at the beginning because he burns the castle, takes prince Ronald & burns all of Elizabeths clothes. We think that Elizabeth is very brave because she went after the dragon to free prince Ronald. The dragon was a bit of a showoff when Elizabeth asked him if it was true that he could burn down ten forests and fly around the world in ten seconds. the dragon ended up Burning 100 forest & lost all his fire (He didn't even have enough fire to cook a meatball.), then he flew round the world in ten seconds, Elizabeth asked the dragon to do this again that he ended up flying around the world in 20 seconds. then the dragon was so exhausted he coldn't move. Elizabeth did this because she knew the dragon would get exhausted and then the dragon would fall to the floor and she could get prince Ronald back.

Emily and Leon decided to write about Those Shoes. Brandon T. is a showoff. So is Nate. They kept on showing off their shoes. Soon, everyone else has them! Everyone except Jeremy and Antonio. In the book, Jeremy, the main character, is really kind, because when he saw everyone else wearing the shoes, so Jeremy really wants the shoes. When he finally gets them, they are too tight! After, he notices Antonio needed new shoes, because they were taped up, so Jeremy gave the shoes to Antonio, which was a really kind thing to do. This book is important because it has an important message, which is to be kind.

In Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall, I think Jabari has a strong relationship with his dad, because when Jabari feels scared to jump off the diving board, his dad shares his own strategy with Jabari. He tells him it’s OK to feel scared when you’re trying something new, just take a deep breath and then he said sometimes after you take a deep breath it sometimes starts feeling like a surprise. So Jabari feels encouraged and then he jumps off the diving board. In conclusion Jabari has A very strong relationship with his dad.

In Those Shoes By Maribeth Boelts, the main character, Jeremy is very, very kind and caring because in the story, first Brandon T. has those shoes. Soon, everyone else has them too! Everyone except Antonio and Jeremy. Jeremy really wants the shoes, but when he finally gets them, they are too tight! He notices Antonio needs new shoes, because they are taped up, so Jeremy gives them to him. This shows that he is a very kind and caring person.
