To avoid or reduce these situations, the school must build a culture of respect and acceptance. Doing it so, students would know that their actions will have consequences. As a school principal, one of the bases in our field is trust in teachers and vice versa and demonstrating to teachers that one will enforce the rules and keep the standards fairly and strictly.
I chose this topic because it is imminent that everyone (teachers, aides, administrative staff, and all school personnel) work together once and for all and collaborate to make this change possible. It is frustrating and alarming to see in the news and social media how students continue to harm each other or teachers or how a student feels that people must get hurt because somehow it was rejected or mistreated.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is responsible for making guidelines at the state level that school districts must use when making their policies and standards for student discipline.
