With the UK's excellent football infrastructure, I played many fantastic games with my friends. Particularly, compared to Korea, the opportunity to play football with friends from different countries was the best experience I've ever had. It allowed me to become familiar with the cultures of other countries and to overcome some of the prejudices I had. Additionally, we sometimes played on the concrete field in front of a primary school near our accommodation, and often had matches with local children. Playing soccer with kids who are passionate about football was an incredibly rewarding experience.

There's no doubt that managing my time has been a challenge, especially when studying from home. Having never lived alone before this period, I wasn't accustomed to cooking or possessing the necessary skills to live independently. Sometimes, I spent so much time cooking that it cut into my study time. However, through numerous trials and errors, and countless sessions of self-feedback, I've developed a balanced self-management routine. Now, with ample free time, I'm dedicating myself to personal growth through activities such as working out and running.

I was away from school and society group for 2 years because of the compulsory military service. Since I came here right after I got discharged from military service, I tended to feel unnatural when speaking with other people or doing some activities with them. However, with numerous activities provided by Kaplan, not only I could enhance my ability to communicate with people but also I got to be proficient in hang out with my friends but also form a good social relationship between them.

Academic experience

Through various projects and reports, I had a great opportunity to develop skills such as paraphrasing, referencing, and analyzing scholarly works, which will be invaluable in college. Specifically, skimming skills significantly reduced the time I spent on projects. This efficient reading technique also enabled me to include more references in a limited timeframe. Additionally, my writing skills have significantly improved since I first started here. This experience has boosted my confidence in academic writing to the point where I was even able to pass the Kite exam—a task I found daunting, especially the writing section, when I first arrived.
