Mayflower Apartments Blind Spot

Mayflower Apartments is a popular living space right on Virginia Beach. Residents keep their vehicles in a 3-story parking garage in the picture outside. When pulling out of the parking garage onto the main road, there is a terrible blind spot due to bushes and street parking which completely blocks the driver's view. This is very dangerous as the road is always busy, and residents constantly come in and out. I think the city should take away the street parking on this side of the road and maybe cut down some of the bushes.

Atlantic Avenue Sidewalks

Atlantic Avenue is a busy road right on the beach. The housing in this area is very nice, but the roads are in terrible condition. Between uneven surfaces and countless potholes, this is not only annoying for residents and tourists but also dangerous as well as a hazard for cars. The city needs to prioritize fixing their roads and creating a nicer environment.

Pacific Avenue Construction

There is an overload of construction on Pacific Avenue, which is one of the most busy roads in Virginia Beach as it is on the main strip next to the beach. It is blocking some of the main sidewalks for tourism. In the location of this picture specifically, I have seen a surplus of people have to walk into the road to get around the construction. This is not only a liability to the city and drivers of the road but puts lives in danger. While the construction is necessary, I think the city needs to prioritize wrapping it up over other projects as to protect the lives of civilians.

Artic Avenue Trash Issue

Artic Avenue is another street close to the beach. While driving through the neighborhood, I couldn't help but notice the surplus of trash and debris left out of the streets. This creates an unsightly and unhygienic environment as well as risks trash flying into the ocean and harming sea life. It also diminishes the overall appeal of the neighborhood and also contributes to environmental degradation and potential health hazards. The city needs to be proactive about this situation and either clean it up themselves or issue warnings to homeowners.
