La Alta Edad Media by JURGEN KLISSMANN FERNANDO LOPEZ GUEVARA https://padlet.com/jurgenlopez/2jwe4he9df6iwm85 en-us 2020-12-10 16:47:31 UTC 2023-01-22 18:57:14 UTC hello@padlet.com https://padlet.net/icons/png/271d.png De la construcción y periodificación de la Edad Media angelmatias https://padlet.com/jurgenlopez/2jwe4he9df6iwm85/wish/1010158549 La idea de la Edad Media como comúnmente se le considera, es decir un periodo de atraso, oscurantismo y de anquilosamiento, ha sido construida por cierto grupo o durante cierto periodo (humanistas italianos, el Siglo de las Luces, burguesía) que necesitaban de esta imagen para construirse a sí mismas con valores y características distintas, opuestas (libertad, progreso, modernidad, etc.) a las que se le atribuía a la Edad Media; asimismo, al realizar esto se termina por desconocer la lógica propia de la Edad Media, de manera que esta cae en la incoherencia y de aquí que sea necesario superar o romper con esta etapa. Entonces, si la ruptura con la Edad Media fue una construcción, se puede afirmar que los españoles llegados a tierras americanas traían consigo una mentalidad medieval, en la que el cristianismo tuvo un peso preponderante, de manera que se puede entender a la conquista como una prolongación de la reconquista, es decir una tarea por expandir el cristianismo. Además, los españoles en un principio no crearon nuevas instituciones o realidades, sino que trasladaron las ya existentes en la España medieval a sus colonias americanas, y sería a partir de esto que lo medieval conviviría con lo autóctono, lo indígena, para transformarse y crear lo colonial.
Finalmente, no se debe entender a la Edad Media como un periodo sin variaciones, sino que fue una etapa dinámica y con cambios, de manera que las periodizaciones apuntan a estos cambios (migraciones a Europa y posterior expansionismo conquistador) y la dividen en alta Edad Media y baja Edad Media, siglos V a X y XI a XV respectivamente. Aunque, otra propuesta (Le Goff) manifiesta una etapa de quince siglos que se mantiene unida, debido a su coherencia y lógica, y de la que se rompe a partir de la revolución industrial y de la modernidad.
