Patricia we could definitely use stories such as "Katie can change the world" by Jennifer Dewing. The Teacher can start a conversation just by looking at the cover and all the characters on it. The teacher can ask while reading what they see on the cover and describe what the characters are doing. The Teacher can point out that all the characters on the cover look different from each other and ask themselves why do all these children look different and why are they standing on the earth?

Alvaro I agree that asking good questions is very useful when the books are wordless. By asking students what they can infer from the illustrations also targets the learning standards needed later on in their education. Also gives a better understanding of what is going on in the story.
