Jonas thinks that since everybody is a mindless zombie and they can’t feel any true emotion in them, they don’t need to be cared for. The nurturers inject the babies with poison and don’t realize what bad they are doing. They look at the babies flail their arms and legs because they are suffering, and they don’t have any emotion, so they don’t feel any remorse. They proceed to put the dead body in a little container and drop it down a dark garbage chute. Then they just leave. I can’t say that I’m not thinking the same thing Jonas is thinking about that society.
