He began working at Hoffman-La Roche in 1941. </p></li><li><p>Hoffman-La Roche (presently known as Roche) was producing vitamins in the late 1800s and early 1900s</p></li><li><p>Sternbach was developing new drugs in <strong>1955</strong> when he discovered chlordiazepoxide, diazepam, flurazepam, nitrazepam, flunitrazepam, clonazepam and trimethaphan. All of these drugs are versions of benzodiazepine, in the family of benzodiazepine, or are classified as being in the benzodiazepine family; dependent on its compounding structure. </p></li><li><p><strong>What is benzodiazepine?</strong> Sometimes referred to as "benzos"; Simply put, these are a class of depressant drugs. Benzodiazepine-classified drugs result in a range of effects from sedative, hypnotic, muscle relaxant, anticonvulsive, and anti-anxiety.
