Hurricane Eugénie struck Madagascar on the 7th of February 1972 (which is coincidentally Saint Eugénie's day) and ended on the 21st of February 1972.

Hurricane Eugénie had little impact on Madagascar as there were only low winds when it crossed (39-73mph) and there was only heavy rain, as one would expect in a large storm.

Despite looking around the entirety of a shapeless void known as google, we could not find any effects of Eugenie, probably because it was such a minor cyclone, and also took place in 1972. However, if we had to guess, it would probably have given some minor flooding.

If Hurricane Ike had followed the path of Hurricane Eugenie, the impact would have been much greater than it was with the real storm. This is because Madagascar is a low income country, and is also an island. This means that there is more likely to be flooding. As well as this, the long term impacts would have been much greater, because people would not have had enough money to rebuild.
