The fires on the west coast are from several different sources. some of these fires are being started by people. one example was when a family used a pyrotechnic device for a gender reveal. this fire has spread to over 10,000 acres. another fire named the “apple wildfire” was started by a cars diesel getting out into a large field of vegetation. this fire took up 26,000 acres of land

These fires, though primarily occurring in california, are affecting the entire west coast. Oregon, Washington, and a few other western states have to deal with the bad air quality and fires that are occurring. there are several power lines that have caught on fire in Washington causing serious electrical and internet issues. the internet issues caused schooling to be even more difficult for students.

These horrific fires begun in early september with the el dorado fire beginning on september 5th. more than 30 people have died since that fire. dozens of other people are missing and separated from their families because of the fires, starting in the 5th as well.

The changing climate is a possible reason for the fires. most of the moisture in california happens in the fall and winter. during the summer, the vegetation dries out which makes forest very easy to occur. so along with innocent mistakes, the climate is also a reason for the terrible fires happening in the west coast.
