My name is Olga Vyshynska, I´m from Portugal. Currently I am in Lisbon, taking a Masters degree in "Teaching English in High School".
Throughout my life I have been to 3 different schools. Each one of them was good in some ways and bad in others. Except for the arts and music class I did not have any more favorite classes. I enjoyed each one of them in a special way. But after High School I understood that languages is my passion. I was born in Ukraine but raised in Portugal, as a result of this I learned not only Ukrainian, but also Portuguese, and Russian because I watched a lot of theirs TV. In school I started to learn English and later on in University I learned French. So in my account of languages I have 4 solid, known languages and one which needs a little bit more practice.

14 Types of Teachers

Reflecion abou the following article: https://www.boredteachers.com/humor/species-of-teachers-youre-sure-to-find-in-any-school

I do agree that there are several types of teacher. But throughout my life I have met only a few of them.
1. The perfect classroom teacher. --> Never met such a teacher in my life. I deduce that it might be related to the fact that in Portugal, teachers do not decorate their classrooms. They just come in, teach and that is all.

2. The High - Energy Teacher
9. The Health - Crazy Teacher
10. The Always Complaining Teacher
11. The Over organized teacher
12. The Jocky - Coach teacher
--> are te teachers that I also never heard about.
In Portugal the teaching system is a little bit different, and as a consequence teachers are almost all the same.

The teachers that I remember well were either wery good ones, or very bad ones. But there was this teacher. Oh my! Was she something. She made the effort to come "sexy" for every class possible. She was the centre of attention to all the boys possible in our school. Yet that was not enough for her, she was also utterly convinced that she was the best and that besides her there was nobody else in this world.

Personal Learning Network (PLN)

After reading the following articles about PLN:https://www.creativeeducation.co.uk/blog/pln/
https://www.edutopia.org/blog/how-do-i-get-a-pln-tom-whitby

I have come to conclusion that Indeed PLN might be a very useful tool. As we know, teachers need to be in constant learning, in order to be better, and I believe that one of the best ways to keep learning is by sharing and learning new ideas from colleagues. As mentioned in the article, these are the aspects that a PLN network offers:
"• Talk to like-minded, real people
• Share and exchange a range of ideas
• Inject creativity into everyday practice
• Enjoy a constant flow of ideas
• Encourage innovation
• Discuss and consider controversial thoughts
• Develop enthusiasm and passion "

Is there any better way to grow as a teacher than grow together with others like-minded teachers? I believe not.

Innovative Teachers Use Instagram

Reflection about the following article: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/why-innovative-teachers-use-instagram-7-ways-become-socially-persico/

Why Innovative teachers should NOT use instagram.
I am quite young, and Instagram has been for a while a huge part of my life. Photography is my true passion. Facebook was already boring and there was no perspective of growing as photographer in there so I thought Instagram would be a great opportunity. But here is the truth. A few years ago, there was no stupid algorithm. It was only about pictures, profiles and hashtags. But not anymore. It is now a place of fakeness, sales and celebrities. It is true that you choose who to follow but Instagram does not stop there, paid sponsorships will appear in your page even if you don´t want them too. It is a perfect place for business celebrities like Kardashians to earn money for their pictures just by promoting some products (sometimes not even good ones!). How could this social media, be a place where teachers could connect and create a social professional network?
For those purposes better to use, Twitter, Blogs, Google Sites etc.
