  • Even though this is happening in the UK it has been widely broadcast so I would hope that some students may have heard a bit about it already.
  • The aim of this material is to get students introduced to what is fair (ethical) and unfair (unethical) when it comes to businesses closing down and how businesses should act
  • I would try to get students drawing up mindmaps of what steps they think should be followed when making redundancies.
  • I would get them to research other redundancies and the impact they may have had on people in Ireland
  • It is very topical with the pandemic, a lot of people lost their jobs so I would hope that students would be able to discuss the different impacts this would have on people - budgets, financial life cycle, the Government & unemployment benefit etc.

  3. Students will form groups and research this area with particular focus on Ireland's position.
