As a child I was born in Greek Village on July 23, 1939. As a child I was moved to different schools until I came upon Ms. Hurd's class in 1949. Yet by that time I had already been to six different schools. Until 1945 I was put in a mentally retarded class for school because at the time they didn't have a class room for non-English speaking students. After learning English I was put into a normal graded class our father moved again. I entered Chandler Junior High where I was surrounded by richer, smarter, and better dresses kids who seemed to not approve of my strong accent or clothes. When were told to choose a career to pursue during "Club Hour" I just followed the prettiest girl in my class. Which led me to the "Newspaper Club". There I met Ms. Hurd the newspaper adviser and the English teacher who later became my mentor and muse. After years of teaching by Ms. Hurd I went off to Boston University with scholar ships and part time jobs in journalism. During my last year in college I wrote about a friend who had died in the Philippines, ultimately the first one to die during the Peace Corps, this lead to me winning the Hearst Award for College Journalism, and later becoming a successful writer in America

Today me and my family went to go and visit the Christopher Columbus Memorial Foundation in Washington D.C today. I went to help commemorate the discovery of the new world. Even though I was not born in America I feel like I should help commemorate the discovery of it because it's were my mother sent me when she wanted to protect me from the communist guerrillas in the other country I was living in. Throughout the years of living in America I have learned that even though you may not come here with a dream you can always find one.

Through out the years of living in America I have had many goals. I'll admit I haven't completed some at all or attempted to yet, but there are some that I have done so many times that it's not even a goal anymore it's a routine for me. So this year I have come up with a goal that I have made that I thought would make me and the people around me a better person.
My goal for this year is to write about my life in Greek Village before I came to America. Even though I don't like the topic of it I feel like having my past known by people will make people who were like me talk about their past and improve their quality of life.

During this joyful experience I meet a new friend named Johnathan who was on his honeymoon with his wife Mary. After the first time meeting Johnathan and his wife we all ate dinner at a very fancy restaurant named Alan Wong's. After the whole trip my wife and came back with new friends for the future.

During the days of my older years I decided to go and visit Greece. The reasoning behind this is because I wanted to learn more about it's rich history and how it's change since I was born. During my trip to Greece I meet with several other authors who currently live in Greece and they told about what is like to live Greece. During my trip in Greece I went and visited the National Gardens and Lonian Islands. My trip to Greece was defiantly one to remember from all the history and historical places.
