All of the sugar found in soft drinks, whether they be granulated sugar or corn syrup mixed in, can all be traced back to sugar cane or sugar beets.

France fall just behind Russia for number one producer of sugar beets at 33,688,393 tons. While there have been incidents in the past 5 years that have hindered the growth of this industry, such as crop disease and layoffs of workers, France continues to be one of the main providers of sugar in Europe. The fertile farmlands of France, access to large bodies of water, and being located in between major European countries make this country a prime place for growing and exporting agriculture.

The population pyramid shows that France has been industrialized for a while now, and sitting around stage 4. Compared to the rest of the population pyramids, France is somewhat less developed. The shape of the pyramid shows us that the birth rate has declined as the death rate declined. This means that there is actually a small amount of the population working on agriculture, despite being one of the top producers of sugar beets. France could also be a location to process the beets into sugar, and even turn into soda.

We can't put raw sugar cane or sugar beets into carbonated water to give us soda. All of the materials we gathered from primary activity will be converted into something useable. Sugar beets are sliced into thin strips in order to easily extract the sugar parts. They are then put in an extractor that gets all of the juice out of the slices, and form the juice into a usable syrup.

The syrup gained from processing the sugar beets are mixed with artificial flavoring and coloring, and are then mixed into the carbonated water.

The carbonated water is created by putting filtered water to the right pressure and temperature. and mixing it with carbon dioxide. This is what makes the drink bubbly.

In order to make the glass bottle, sand, soda ash, limestone, and recycled glass are melted down to a malleable shape. The mixture is dropped into a bottle mold and cooled down to be filled up with soda and used in the next production cycle.

The actual making of the physical product is always important, and is displayed well in primary and secondary economic activity. Tertiary activities, including advertising, work very well with mass products such as soft drinks. Advertisers work to find funny ways to get a certain brand stuck in your head through paid video advertisements, film sponsorships, or billboard space. This forces the consumer to actually want to buy the product.

Lawyers for certain soda companies also fall under this classification. They provide their services through defending the company in case of a lawsuit against them and the product. This is useful for keeping a company afloat if there is a nonsensical lawsuit.

With a company, there must be a type of research and information sector to inform the company of any important information. An example of this would be a quality control tester, who could easily alert the main workers of the company if an entire batch of soda happened to have something harmful in it. Quality control is important in ensuring a quality product and preventing lawsuits.

Media researchers can see how the public is responding to a new advertisement, or look into what the public is drawn toward in order to exploit it for the company. This can be seen in the recent trend in advertisement with certain celebrity cameos or presentation. An example would be looking into a website with a large audience, seeing what the general demographic is, and sending advertisements targeted toward what they would possibly like, forcing them to like your product by association.

The market in this country is up to date with what the consumer wants, or "trendy", leading to a lot of companies having to put a lot of money into advertising to have an upper hand. Advertising, and many more service jobs, operate within the country. America seems to be located in between two major countries, with ports that allow them to gain resources from other countries. This connection with many countries allows America to focus on promoting their internal market.

This sector turns the raw materials into usable materials for finished products. This sector would include the refining of the raw material, and the creation of common products in a store.
