My school uses a program called Plus Portals. There are teacher, student and parent accounts. It's great because for older students you can provide worksheets and quizzes for them to access in case they are absent. A nice feature is communication with parents via email that can be sent to all parents or parents in specific classes. It works well to inform them of upcoming tests and events and it allows me to attach files.
