Outside of the story however, a fair way to be given credit for your work is how much your work benefits everyone, not just yourself. In real life, people tend to be given credit for how much they succeed, but people easily are given credit for other people's work. One of the most stressful things you can do to someone is not give them credit for a genuine effort. I know personally i struggle a lot with focus and burn out, and that sometimes the bare minimum is all i can do. to not give someone credit for doing what they can is eliminating equality. some people are naturally more smart or more creative or more physically able. are you going to hold someone who has never done art before to the same standards as someone who has been doing art for ten years? 

and think about people with learning disabilities, or conditions like ADHD that make learning extremely difficult. For people with ADHD their best effort is the effort that they are able to put into focusing , because that can feel impossible at times. And for people with learning disorders, everything may come slower to them. for them, trying is the effort they put into staying caught up and doing what they can despite their disability. 

on top of this, in school we are learning new things. for some, these concepts may come super easily, and they can understand and articulate thoughts surrounding the subject. for others, the subject may be extremely difficult. Because I'm smarter than the average student, I'm held to a higher moral and social expectations as well. So many people have told me that I'm so smart, but that I don't use my head for things. And in some ways that true, but it always feels so awful to hear that. I've grown so used to high expectations from the people around me, and I've grown a large fear of failure because of it. 

When it comes to famous people, there's a huge expectation for them to hold up their social status.
