I think the American Dream in general is anything you can achieve as long as you stay positive towards your goals and work hard for them. Although the American Dream is different to everyone. Kerry Healey brings up that there are more struggles for younger ones today because, people her age now, had 100% of achieving the american dream back then. She thinks that if we tackle the problems that are preventing people from gaining it then the success rate will be higher. The poem is about how the sons mother is striving to reach her dream. She tells her son you're gonna have struggles and its going to be hard but you have to keep on going. That you can't stop until you've reached that goal but even then you can keep on going to try and gain more. The mother points out to her son that they have come this far and can't give up now. This supports my claim because it shows that her american dream is to have a good life for her and her son.

This a big percentage of Americans that are optimistic about the american dream showing that it is definitely still alive. As well as the article states,"The data also show that most Americans believe themselves to be achieving this version of the American dream."
