I've always loved that style of home with a wide front porch, large windows, and a sense of former charm.  But one thing I would change is for the interior to be updated with more modern features like an open concept, large kitchen, modern bathroom amenities, etc. I love the look of an established older home but with the creature comforts and beauty of a modern one.

I think this house to me represents having a very calm and quaint lifestyle that isn't necessarily flashy (like a modern Malibu mansion) or a very ornate traditional style (like a Spanish villa). To me, a craftsman is the perfect home that caters to family gatherings, childhood memories, and simplicity. 

You can find this style of house in the Land Park or Curtis Park area. Certainly, though, the obstacles in my way for purchasing this home would be money. The house has to have a 20 car garage,  nice kitchen and big pool. Idealy, the house would also have room for a gym, rooms for friends, a sauna and have a sort of open layout design. I would like this because LA is my favorite city and I like the houses in Hollywood a lot. This house to me represents having a rich lifestyle and making it in life. However, there is two obstacles holding me back from acquiring this house. One, the fact that I am not 18 and cannot legally buy a house. I'd love for it to be that dark red with black trimming around the house, or a dark purple with the black trim. The house would be two stories, and have big windows with dark curtains. I'd like the inside to look old as well, but of course have the proper updated utilities. I want giant trees all around the front yard, with barely any leaves on them. I want red, and white roses all around, and on the door one of those things you use for knocking.
