One good activity that the AJHS does that brings me and my classmates closer to God are the Recollections we have yearly. One scriptural image of the church that relates to this activity is that the church is also the kingdom of God. This is related in the sense that the kingdom of God is a place that is always kept in our hearts, and the kingdom gets stronger and stronger within us as our faith grows. One activity that helps us make the kingdom of God stronger within us is the Recollection because it makes us put our faith in God and makes us reflect which in turn makes the kingdom of God stronger in our faith.

Two areas in the AJHS life that need improvement are The Church, specifically the encouragement to attend the morning masses, and having more activities to be able to deepen our relationship with Christ.

Both areas in need of improvement can be related to “The Church is a community of families” since encouragement to going to mass in the morning and the need of more activities to deepen and spend time with Christ is something we as Christians must be able to do in encouraging, proposing, and showing our brothers in the AJHS to do. They are areas that lack ideas and execution, in which if improved, it will ensure a more personal and spiritual growth together with Christ.

The school should prioritize making more activities to be able to deepen our relationship with Christ. They shall make use of the given time during sessions such as Focus Time, Homeroom, and Formation Sessions in order to maximize the activities students are to do and participate in to strengthen their relationship with Christ.

We can contribute by preparing reflections to be shared every homeroom or focus time which leads to a lesson, story, or moral from Christ and The Bible to spread the lesson and word of God to our fellow classmates. We may also conduct daily rosary prayer sessions in these non-academic sessions in order to offer and dedicate time not only to Jesus, but also to Mary our Mother.

To be able to conduct these daily reflections and rosary prayer time, we will first propose the idea of doing either of the two during these non-academic sessions to our homeroom teacher, and to ensure that the class will participate, prepare, and listen to these sessions. After such, we will assign different students on different days of these sessions to present their reflections or to lead the class in the prayer of the rosary. Lastly, we will encourage our fellow batch members to do the same, and to spread forward the activity we propose on doing daily. This can be related to “The Church is One” since we are spreading not only to our class, but to other classes as well how they may maximize their time in school to deepen their faith and relationship with Christ through following Unity in Diversity.
