Discrimination is the act of making unjustified distinctions between human beings based on the groups, classes, or other categories to which they are perceived to belong. People may be discriminated on the basis of race, gender, age, religion, or sexual orientation, as well as other categories.

I am going to talk about some of the anecdotes that I have seen in my environment that are racist.
Many of these comments can be heard every day and if we pay attention we can realize that racism is very normalized.

One of the most typical is when a white person meets a black person and asks about their place of origin, let's imagine that this black person answers that he were born in Sevilla, the other person is not sure about if it's true because they associate a black person to an African country.

Another example is when at school we colored a drawing and we asked a classmate for a skin-colored pencil, we associated this color with our skin color and we didn't take into account that there were more skin colors apart from white.

Another example is one sentence that I always hear "I'm not racist but...", I've heard this too many times and the continuation of the sentence is never good, they are always racist comments but they deny being so, it's very contradictory.

These are just a few of the many examples that we can hear.
It's very sad that things continue like this today, but I trust that one day all these comments will not be heard again and we will all have the same rights, regardless of skin color.

In our daily life it is very common to see examples of racist or discriminative comments and actions that are done without trully knowing.
A great example of this it's, when covid had just arrived and some parents were telling their kids to not to aproach their chinesse friends because the virus came from this country.
An example of discrimination is that, ussually, when we see a girl a little overweighted, the first think we think is that she should losse weight to be considered pretty, although beauty is a social construct and it makes people ashamed of their body.
An example of discrimination based on the skin colour, racism, is that black people are considered not to be good with women or respecting some basic human rights just because other black people practice unethical things in other countries, it is like saying that you're a cannibal because someone from another place that has the same skin colour as you is a cannibal.
Thigs like these and much more, happen every day, so it is compulsory to teach young boys and girls that discrimination, even if it is just a thought, can hurt more people than you first imagined.

Yesterday I was searching some racist experiences that some people had, and I think that this one is the less known one:

Carolina came to Spain nine years ago from "El Salvador". "I came to study for a master's degree on gender issues and I only found work in domestic work. That's what I did for five years" she says. That wss perhaps the first sign of institutionalised racism. "It's not written anywhere, but the majority of domestic workers, those who take care of the elderly or work as live-in maids in the homes of upper-class families, are migrant women", she recalls. "Racism and classism are mixted there, and the phrase " If you don't like It, go to your country" is easily heard.
Have you ever heard of this other type of racist experience?

I am going to talk about examples of discrimination.
Discrimination is a word that is current in all the ambits of our life, like in the street, in the school, in the news, etc.
That word is terrible, because when it appears nothing good happens.

Disability can be on the base of discrimination, for example at work, when the boss tells a person with disability to type or write data, someone says that he can not do that because he has disability and he doesn't work as well as a person without disability.

An example of discrimination is gender, for example in sports, when a woman earns less money in the same sport than a man or somebody says that women can not play sports. Women must be in the house taking care of children and of the house.

An example of race discrimination is when the police believe that you and your group of friends are doing something bad, like having drugs, the police only report to black boy just because he is black, and the rest are not reported.

The people that say or do that must change how they think, these thought are “normally” many years ago not now, their minds are outdated.

The discrimination must stop, we are in 2023 and we have the same problem for centuries, it is unbelievable, how we are so advanced, for example, in technology and today, there is discrimation.

In this note I’m going to Tell you some examples of racist discrimination which is one of the most horrible things a human can do.

Both examples are situations that I have seen myself where I felt that I have to do something but I could not.

The first example was a year ago when I was in Madrid. One day I was with my family on the underground when I heard some screams . What happened was that an older man was insulting a black woman because she had sat next to him and he said that she couldn't sit there because the seats were for white people. Then the man pushed the woman but luckily all the passengers on the underground got to throw the man off the underground

The other example is very hard and it happened at my cousin's school. In that school there was an 8 year old boy who was bullied by his classmates for being black. They had fun stealing his sandwich and screaming him “ have shower you're dirty". Finally, two months later the child went to another school.

The saddest thing about this second example is that the only person who helped him was my cousin and the rest of people were silent.

Discrimination and racist are bad things that nowadays they allow it and promove it in a lot of countries.

One case of discrimination is when someone insult to other people just because he or she is different from others. The most of this cases happenend with people that have disabilities but it could be also current in other people that has a different appereance.

And finally racist, is when one person discriminate other people just because he or she has a different skin colour, this for some reason is frecuent that one white person discriminate another black person, and what's more since long years ago was being normalise. Nowadays fortunatly in our countrie, racist, is bad and people see it like somethimg wrong but in other countries as well as discrimination is normalise and promove it as something good.

Every human of this planet has the right to live in the way he like, beside that , from my point of view I think that being a good person it could be sometimes really tought but if everyone make the effort of being grateful, generous and respectful we could be a very good civilization.

I am going to tell you the story of my cousin. She has a mental disability, it is difficult for her to relate to other people but nothing else.

The history begin when my cousin was little, she was in her school but no body want to play with she because she was different. She didn't really stand why her partners didn't want to play with she. Every afternoon my aunt play with she, because she was playing alone at the same times her sister was playing down stairs with all her friends. She always tell her mum that she wanted to play with the children.
When she was in the Hig School, she never met her friends after school and she only spend time with her partners if they need to do a project.
One day when she was about 19 years, she undertood that people had always treated her that way because she was "different", she began to go to groups with young people like her, incredible young people. There were people with brains who worked at unmatched speed, people with great ideas and of course people with great goals. This is how he realized that being "different" was not bad, the bad were the people who believed they were inferior because of something as simple as having one more or one less chromosome.
This is her great story. She found the right path, but because of those bad people there are many others who continue to think that being "different" is a bad thing and that must be changed.

P.D. I don't think they are the "weird" ones, I sincerely believe that those are us ;).
