I'm really passionate about music, from Taylor Swift and Bring Me the Horizon to Brazilian funk. I also enjoy a variety of TV series and animes (One Piece, Berserk and Evangelion are my all time favorites!). I am also really into literature and I could talk about books for a really long time (but I will try no to LOL). My favourite book of all time is Crime and Punishment, written by the russian author Dostoiévski.

I love learning new languages (I'm currently learning Italian and French) and immersing myself in different cultures. I am really anxious to show you guys a bit of the Brazilian culture <3 Looking forward to sharing all these interests with you!

I love movies and watching films from different countries, I also love reading, at the moment I'm reading 100 years of solitude and i'm really loving it (although it's taking me a 100 years to finish it). Music is also something very special to me, I'm currently trying to learn the violin.

I also love learning new languages, I've been trying to learn French these days. I really enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes (even though they often don't turn out as expected 😅).

I’m really interested in politics, different cultures and things like this. I love reading, specially fantasy (although I’ve started many books this year but haven’t finished any of them 🥲). One of the last books I’ve read and loved was “white nights” by Dostoiévski. About music, I mostly listen to brazilian genres like funk and mpb, american pop and piano melodies. I also love learning languages, besides portugese and english, I can understand a little bit of spanish and I’m currently learning french. I also like trash rom-com movies and tv shows, I just finished The last of us and loved it!!!

Besides all of this, the thing I like to do the most is travel. I’m passionate about discovering and learning about new cultures. I looove going to the beach and waterfalls, and natural destinations over all. That’s it, hope to see you soon!!!

I’m really interested in films of all genres! I love logging them on Letterboxd, lol. As you can probably tell from the picture I choose, I'm a huge fan of The Office 😆. I’m also passionate about music. I’d say I’m pretty eclectic, since I listen to pop, rock, alternative, MPB, rap, and metal.

I’m really into learning new languages and cultures. I’m currently taking an A1 Russian course. I’ve already tried learning French, Italian and Korean, but didn’t really have the time to fully immerse myself in them. Still, I hope to try again asap!

Another fun fact is that I’m a cheerleader on my course’s athletic team! Oh, and I'm super into fashion too! It's so fun to see how trends change and how designers express creativity through fashion.

I'm a huge movie lover, especially those wonderfully bad, low-budget horror films (they're hilarious). I also have a soft spot for independent and alt films. Alongside movies, I'm deeply into music and books. Some of my favorite books are One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabo, Human Acts by Han Kang, and, of course, Captains of the Sands by Jorge Amado. While I adore novels, I’m also a big fan of Junji Ito’s horror manga.

Musically, I have a pretty eclectic taste. I'd say I'm a Bowie's child and a Jorge Ben admirer, and a woman raised by Mitski and os Mutantes (especially the one and only Rita Lee, she's a diva), but I also love pop, funk, rap, rock, Korean R&B, and so on...

my passion for art, in all its forms, naturally led me to language studies. I'm self-taught and have been studying English, Spanish, and Korean on my own for a while now. I'm not super confident in my language skills yet (probably because I'm a bit shy), but I really enjoy listening to people's thoughts and stories, and I believe that learning languages and exploring different cultures gives me a beautiful window into how others see the world (and that's also the reason I study translation).

a big part of who I am also comes from where I grew up. I love going back to the countryside, watching the stars, going to the beach, and just listening to nature. I'm also an animal lover (I could happily spend my entire life taking care of animals and feel completely fulfilled). Oh, and I cannot forget to mention that I'm a huge fan of SCCP (that’s Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, for the uninitiated). In my (very correct) opinion, it has the best football history in Brazil for sure.

I'm 20 years old and a journalism student at UFMG. I love books, music, gastronomy, coffee (and coffee shops!), and reality shows. This month, we're celebrating the June Festival (Festa Junina), and it's my favorite time of year, when we eat traditional foods and dance the quadrilha 🕺. I'm so happy during this season!

I'm 20 years old and a nursing student here at UFMG. I love books, good pop music, night clubs where they play awesome pop songs and pop singers, specially Lady Gaga and Beyonce. Does anyone else like the queens?

I also like going out to bars, field hangouts, walk around the city and see beautiful views and horizons, going to orchestras and enjoying good concerts. Besides, I like gastronomic experiences, such as going to overestimated cafes. I actually love everything related to food and, to be honest, our state's got the best food in the whole world!

I love cultural exchange and learn new languages, so I hope we can trade our experiences so that we can enrich our knowledge as well!

I'm a student on the Conservation of Heritage course at UFMG.

I've been living in Belo Horizonte for nearly 4 months now, just to study - so when it comes to sightseeing, I'll basically be a tourist too 🥵.

Apart from that, I'm reeeeeally into animated movies, sending postcards, reggaeton, and I LOVE reading crime fiction (with the big 3, ofc 😎 - Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot and Father Brown, though Miss Marple's my favourite character ever).

I'm currently into photography, thanks to a photography module I had this period. Sooooo, I'm planning to bring my camera along to register the moments we're going to share together (stay prepared 🫵)

I've studied abroad for a couple of months, so I know how's the feeling of going to another country without knowing anyone and with a whole different language. But because of that experience, I've started to love meeting new people from all over the world.

So don't worry! Everybody is here to help - and I'm also 24/7 available for any doubts that are going to appear (and a bunch will appear).

I love drinking a good black coffee in the morning while listening to some blues, jazz, or j-rock. My favourite hobbies are playing table-top RPG with my friends, watching to Ghibli movies, and playing some games like Yu-Gi-Oh, League, Skyrim, Minecraft, Genshin.

Also, I am a proud Pokémon nerd, I could spend hours talking about competitive strategies on Pokémon Showdown. I also like low-quality memes, my humour is lowk broken...

My favorite TV shows are sex and the city and game of thrones. I absolutely love all of the 4 main characters of satc, and I identify with every single one of them at some point, and my favorite house in the got universe is house tyrell. I also recently started to watch twin peaks.

I love horror movies, especially the slashers, and musicals. My favorite horror franchise is final destination, and my favorite musicals are la la land and chicago. I also unironically love the twilight saga and x-men.

I listen to a lot of music. One of my all-time favorites is fiona apple!! I swear she is a genius. But I enjoy other artists such as charli xcx, fka twigs, dominic fike and panic! at the disco.

I like to dye my own hair periodically, and I'm addicted to cutting my bangs shorter at any minor inconvenience in my life.

My favorite international writer is Raymond Carver, but my favorite Brazilian writer is Lygia Fagundes Telles. If you have never heard of her, I highly recommend her!

I recently started to take pole dance lessons, and I’m very passionate about it. 

I love sheep, the TV show Glee and the anime Nana.

I'm a big fan of mystery stories, both in movies and books. I actually love reading Agatha Christie. Like I said before, I really enjoy music, all kinds of it, and also other forms of art, especially drawing!

I think being curious is great. I’m always trying new things, from learning random languages (even though I almost never manage haha) to diving into geography and history.

I’m 21 years old and my major is Advertising.

I love music, literally all kinds, from mainstream pop to bossa nova, but my most listened singers last year were Fletcher, Troye Sivan and Post Malone. I’m also into architecture, politics, fashion, and social projects, and I research luxury fashion consumption in college.

One of my favorite activities is walking or driving (with great music on the radio) and getting to know new places in literally any city. I like seeing great architecture and landscapes, visiting stores and museums of any kind, and improving my repertories in general.

My friends say I’m very eclectic, so I can take you to all kinds of experiences and places you want to visit in this city, trust me! You can see me running around Pampulha’s Lake, walking into an old library, visiting a random building, going to a dance club at night, or just spending some time in nature. I also like trying new bars and restaurants of all kinds, so you can ask me for recommendations from the simplest bars to the fanciest restaurants in town.

My favorite films are Ocean’s 8 and a Brazilian one called Aquarius. My favorite book is “São Paulo Noir”. “Call me by your name” also has a special place in my shelf.

In short, I love people and taking myself out of comfort zones to have new experiences and lessons.

⚜️ I am a Scout, a member of a debating society, and I absolutely love UN simulations! I’m also really into French culture in general, and I plan to do an exchange program in Paris next year!

🎨 Speaking of hobbies, I play violin and I really like making collages and coloring (that’s where my picture comes from)

🍩 I love going out for picnics in the park, grabbing ice cream or açaí, going to classic music concerts (especially at Sala Minas Gerais), visiting cafés, taking pictures and doing girly things! ✨

🍔 But even better than all that are street fairs – any kind: flower markets, craft fairs – but the best ones have food! I love grabbing a beef skewer, a hot dog, or even a sandwich!

👗 That’s why I LOVE festa junina (which I highly recommend you all to experience): it’s like one big fair, but I also get to dress up in costume and dance forró with people.

I live near downtown, which is close to a bit of everything, so it’s going to be amazing exploring the city with you! 🌇

I love to chat about random historical facts (some may call it gossip). I'm currently learning Spanish, even though the journey is quite slow, since I'm self-learning.

Welcome! I'm 22-year-old (just like Taylor predicted ♪♫~), pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biomedicine and a huge fan of fiction movies and series.

Refuting the GIF, I may not have a 147 pounds or a baseball bat, but sarcasm is still my only defense! There’s a thought that life gets lighter ✨ when you put a smile on your face, even if you are passing through much stuff (source: voices from my head). My routine during the term is full and boring, because I work, study and do research in a rheumatology lab, so making fun of myself is an acquired skill. 🤡

You would like to know that I love learning languages, like Italian, Russian, Spanish, French... (all by Duolingo) and meet different styles of people. Also, my hobbies consist in: reading and writing fan-fiction and crossovers, especially from the Sarah J Maas universe; on the weekends, hang out with friends or family (you know, trying to keep my social skin wearable) and listening different genres of music (for now, I’m enjoying international pop and pop-rock - Ava Max, 5SOS, Neoni, Imagine Dragons - but I have lapses of Brazilian Funk and MPB/BPM - Brazilian Popular Music).

Then, I’m anxious to introduce you to aspects of Brazilian culture and to show you the city! I think it will be a great experience to expand our minds and break new grounds. 😃

One important feature of my personality is that I love maps, I love anything related to maps, I love geography, politics, tourism, urban planning, nature, anyway. How does that impact my life? If you start talking to me about a place, prepare yourself, I will open Google maps to learn more about it! I will also be doing a lot of comparisons between cities. At this moment you will regret ever starting to talk to me because I can make this conversation go endless!

I study Economic International Relations at UFMG, I’m already halfway to graduation (thanks lord 🙏🕊️). I’m not from Belo Horizonte, so, in this 2 and a half years, I did a lot of tourism here in the region, nowadays I talk to locals about places that I went and they normally know it exists but have never gone.

I also like to read, listen to music and watch movies, nothing too much cult or intelectual, just something funny…

Belo Horizonte is considered the capital of bars : we have 12.5 bars per km2!!! not bad, hun ? ;)

Besides that, I’m really into grabbing a beer with friends after a long day at school (sometimes even before the day starts kkkkk). My friends are like family here, and I’m so grateful to have them in my life. (I am kinda into anything if I have  my friends by my side: board games, party hard, movie night- you named it)

Oh! I also love to dance! BH is such a dancing city — people here love forró. I try my best, but honestly? I’m kind of terrible at it kkkk. I like dancing to anything (or at least trying to), and my favorite music genres are the ones that make me want to move. My mom raised me on Brazilian music, and Twitter introduced me to international hits, so I vibe with a bit of everything.

I'm also a big story lover — I adore reading stories (fiction, nonfiction, fanfics, you name it),  watching theaters and musicals and movies, listening to podcasts, and most of all, hearing people’s stories. I'd honestly love to sit down with all of you and spend a whole afternoon just listening to you talk about your life, your country, and your culture.

I'm 19 and I'm studying Computer Science here at UFMG! Also currently working as a research assistant at TREX lab.

I am most passionate about art, especially music. I love getting to know new genres and artists, and am open to listening to anything you might want to share! My taste is very very eclectic: my faves range from Fiona Apple (my absolute fave artist in the whole wide world) and Sufjan Stevens, to Charli XCX and PinkPantheress, to Djavan and Rita Lee, and sooo many others in between. I am also a musician myself! I play the violin and just started learning how to play the piano :)

I loooove cinema. I just think it can be such an interesting and beautiful way to come in touch with someone else's mind. Whenever i get some free time, I am always looking for new films, from new places and that explore different (possibly weird) points of view. I also just happen to love using letterboxd to keep track and learn more about them, and to find new ones to watch. Some of my faves are Suspiria, from Dario Argento, and All About My Mother, from Pedro Almodóvar.

I haven't really been having as much time for it as I would like, but I also love reading! My last remarkable read was "A Woman's Story", by Annie Ernaux. Lately I've been getting to read some more of (the very very great) Machado de Assis and Clarice Lispector (even better).

I'm really into pop culture and i loove doing yoga!! Other than Portuguese and English, I can also speak a bit of Spanish!! (just some random other facts LOL).

I'd say that, whenever the company is good (and i just know it will be the best!!), I'm down for pretty much any kind of plans: going to the movies, thrift store shopping, exploring the city, going to museums, taking a walk at Lagoa da Pampulha, really just anything. I also love partying and trying new drinks and food, and I can ASSURE you that Belo Horizonte has the best local ones (and we'll try as many as humanly possible together!).

A little bit about me: I’m 20 years old and currently studying Tourism at UFMG. One of my biggest passions is learning languages. Besides Portuguese and English, I speak a little Spanish, and I’m currently learning Mandarin, a language that fascinates and challenges me, just like Chinese culture, which I find really interesting. I also love learning random phrases in different languages, so please feel free to teach me some!

I’m an animal lover through and through. I have two dogs and volunteer at a shelter for abandoned dogs and cats. If you'd like, you’re more than welcome to visit the shelter with me. I’m sure the animals would be just as happy as I would!

In my free time, I enjoy going to museums, being outdoors, exploring new restaurants and bars, doing yoga and swimming, or just relaxing at home watching romance/suspense series. I also have a huge interest in astronomy, I love learning random facts about the universe and reflecting on life’s bigger questions.

Another big part of who I am is my passion for traveling. It’s actually one of the main reasons I chose to study tourism. I love exploring new places, whether they’re far away or right here in my own city. Belo Horizonte has so many beautiful hidden spots, and I can’t wait to show them to you! Whether it’s trying pão de queijo, watching the sunset from Lagoa da Pampulha, or dancing to Brazilian music, I’d love to share those little magical moments with you.

I'm 22 years old and I'm super excited to meet all of you! I'm practicing meeting people from other countries, and this is the perfect opportunity, I'm more familiar with English, but I can manage Spanish too.

Of course, I love animals. The sausage dog in the picture was my dog Juju, I can't live without animal memes, especially the ones about Possums (the Saruê!) and Dashshunds! They're just perfect.

I also love to read, mostly fantasy and romance, but also sci-fi and drama. One of my favorite books is "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", its creativity is just amazing. I've read almost every book by Sarah J. Maas too, I started when I was a teenager.

I'm reallyyy into animation, series and movies, but animations have a special place in my heart. I watch shows, like Adventure Time, SVTFOE, Steven Universe, Over The Garden Wall, Rick and Morty, The Midnight Gospel, Arcane... and love movies from Disney, DreamWorks and Studio Ghibli. I've watched a lot of anime too. Other passion, is to suffer over romance movies/series hahaha, especially when they don't end well (Fleabag!). But don't judge me! I watch happy stuff too, like The Office and Modern Family <3 balance is everything, haha. I also watch not-so-happy stuff, like GOT and Euphoria.

My music taste includes MPB (música popular brasileira, which means Brazilian Popular Music), POP, Brazilian rock, J-pop and lots of songs from the '80s and '90s. The Shrek soundtrack >>>.

I like to visit new restaurants, museums, parks and attending cultural events here in Belo Horizonte. There are so many free activies to enjoy here! I'll be here to help during your time here, so don't worry :)

Ballet is my passion and I’ve been dancing my whole life, although I’m not the best one at it. Nowadays, I’ve been kind of chill, so I usually spend my time reading, drawing (but not that much) and specially watching series and movies. About series, my favorite ones are “Sex and the City” and “Friends”, but I’m currently watching and enjoying “Yellowjackets”. About movies, I like basically every genre, but I have I thing for horror and thriller movies (I love the adrenaline).

My favorite singer is Lana Del Rey, but I’m currently also into Clairo, Sabrina Carpenter, Lady Gaga and Charli XCX.

I’m very interested in fashion and I love dressing up, but sadly I don’t explore this interest as much as I wanted. I also want to try some other hobbies like watercolors and clay sculpting.

I hope that with SSBS you'll fall in love with Brazilian culture, but also tell me about yours, because I would love to learn about it and get a little taste of living abroad.
