Hi, my name is Alaya Ellis, but I prefer to be called Laya and I am 16 years old and a Junior this year. I live in Houston with my mom and dad. Some of my favorite things to do are sing, run track, and listen to music. At school, I really enjoy math because its based on facts not biased options like English. My friends would describe me as kind-hearted and reliable. Two interesting facts about me is that I'm a huge Marvel fan and that I have lived in the same house all my life.

One of my closest friends is my track bestie I have known her for 5 years and she now attends The University of Oklahoma. Even though we aren't in the same state we still text everyday. My other best friend we talk everyday for hours about different things. She's the person I go to when I have drama or something going on in my life.

Favorite Foods

I have two favorite foods one is cookie dough and the other is my moms red beans with cornbread. I like cookie dough because its so sweet and cold but not like ice-cream. It's different and not very healthy but still amazing. My moms red beans have been the source of all my younger memories and every time I smell them it reminds me of home.

I have been doing Track & Field for over 5 years. The experience and lessons that Track has given me will last a lifetime. I have gained friends, sisters, and brothers all while being at the track.

Favorite place to go with Friends

With my friends my favorite place to go is the mall. Which is weird because I hate going to the mall with my parents or sister but I love going with friends. I think the reason is because we just get to laugh and browse and not necessary buy anything. For example, one of my close friends wanted jeans so we spent 30min looking for jeans and it was fun.
